i like to think we're ladies in the street mentality in the south.. we keep it kinda private.. it's called the DIRTY south for a reason.. and alabama just breeds them differently... they're perfect from bama!.. ps.. i'm from memphis.. but had to comment that bama girls carry themselves differently...

That is an interesting question..... I think it depends on the people involved and not geographical reasons nor the weather. Here is why:
I was born and grew up in SE North Carolina, but have spent almost 15 yrs away, before twice settling back here. Been married once, now divorced, dated more since my divorce that I had prior to marraige. That said, I have date women from the south who loved public displays of affection (on several occasions have had total strangers tell us to "get a room you two!") and have dated women from the south that could not stand to hold hands or walk with my arm wrapped around them or hug/kiss in anything more public that a goodnight kiss at the front door. I have met a few that did not like to snuggle or cuddle or sleep in the same bed (even after sex)I have dated women from the north and I do mean recent transplants to this area, some like those public displays of affection, some don't (stopped dating one simply because of the strict no public display of affection rules....)Everyone has their own perspective, a lot has to do with what we received or did not receive in our childhood or may be based on traumatic circumstances I guess. I met a beautiful, sweet southern woman several years ago that liked displays of affection but made it very clear that under no circumstances would she ever kiss with parted lips - I said"WHAT? No French kissing?" She said absolutely not ever, public or private, she had been that way since she was a teenager.......
Me personally? I am an affectionate person at heart, huggy and touchy. The older I get I have more trouble finding a woman that enjoys physical contact, hand holding, hugging, cuddling..... to me, life without that is missing too much. But that is just my humble opinion

I have to agree with Lust on this one.. I also thinks it also has to do with the person you are with.. there are men I wont hold hands with but there are men I will and as for the Kissing its the same way it all depends on How the man kisses before i decide weither it will be a PUBLIC display or not lol... But as for priv moments it also depends on the man I am with weither I am a cuddle bug with him or not... Norm I like to snuggle but Im not a person who likes to be touchy feely or grabed or touched ALOT. SO there I say it again it depends on the man I am with on how i respond to his affection.. On how passive/ agressive he is when is is touchy feely on weither I am that way alot or not with him..
I grew up 50% up north in ID and MT and 50% down south TX LA AR so to me climate really doesnt play a factor here not with me anyway..
