Cuddle, try not to take offense to the responses from the "oldtimers"... obviously someone forgot to put the metamucil in their prune juice again... if they were really this upset about seeing "another post" of this sort they would have not bothered to reply..
Trust your instincts to your own question... keep up your guard when talking to the shadows.

Aww the blunders of a newby.. Welcome to DH, Sorry but this topic has been done so many times those of us that have been here longer than the Ice Age tend forget newcomers might not know how to use thread search. etc....
Well there are many reasons. Some good some bad, I am sure each person that chooses not to post a picture will have another reason.
Now if I remember right here are some of the main reasons.
They are brand new to the internet they are still having a hard time loading pictures on to the site. So therefore a lot of shadows will send you a picture if you ask them nicely and maybe explain how to attach one to the email.
They are shy about having family and friends see that they are on a Internet Dating
Site.
Brand new to internet Dating and not sure if they want to stick around or not. So why put their mug shot up here.
Fear of being recognized by peers and co-workers. May even have a clause in their job's where they can't I know when I first came on the internet I did. I had to fight tooth and nail to put one up after about six weeks.
The bad reasons they have something to hide. Like Married etc. etc...
Just a tip..the next time instead of deleting an email that just might be the one. Ask them why they don't have a picture. If something developes into where a first meet is happening. Then ask to Webcam. Or have them send you a picture privately..

Maybe some of the people on here are in positions that track the information of people and a photo is a dead give away. I don't put my stock in the pictures anyway since I have met a lot of people off the internet and to be honest and you shouldn't really believe everything someone posts till you get to know them. You shouldn't have any expection that the picture is really that person. I talk to someone and get to know them and then see if there is something there first. I don't want a partner that is good looking and then does nothing in the conversation or intellectual side. Beauty should be on the inside since the outside changes over time and you never know if you hottie becomes a nottie before it is all said and done. Well, I know I am odd but that is my opinion hope it makes someone think. I don't include a picture because if it is that important to you I am not interested anyway since I perfer people that arent so narrow minded as in looks. No, I am not a knock out but am not beat with an ugly stick or at least my friends don't think so.

I wont respond to anyone without a photo either. IMO if you're single there's no good reason not to have a photo on your profile.
and for the person who says maybe they dont have a digital camera, surely they know someone who does. no excuses if you ask me!

Keep trying. I remember a few months back the site went thru a glitch like that. Took them if I remember about 3 weeks to get it up and running again. Did you contact customer support. great place

Real answer. and another note.
I have been on this site short time and I have limited pics of myself (100,s of others and lots of stuff} and they are lost in cyber space. lol I can post a very cute pic(s) of me as baby but just don,t have good current one.
I was on a forum on this site and without doing anything wrong was treated VERY POORLY for not having a pic ,not asked why just called names ???? pretty childish.
should not just assume something in life . Rick

This has probably been said before, but some people don't post pictures because they want their potential dates to get to know them without the factor of knowing what they look like playing a role in that. People deemed good-looking and the ones who don't see themselves as good-looking both do that. Others probably just don't have a good picture or hardly any they feel are worth showing. Me, for example? I hardly have any pictures, although two of them might be considered good. Eh, it's like whatever.
