manureman Bluefield, WV 72, joined Mar. 2008	When it is pretty plain how big corporations take advantage of us. Example: Gas was $3.02 about 4 days ago. It has went up to $3.22 in 4 days. They know it is Thanksgiving week and a lot of people will be on the roads. When gas goes down, it goes down 3 and 4 cents at a time. When it goes up, it jumps a dime at a time.

The ladies job was to ID everyone who came into a secure building.....The CO included...he didn't like it as asked the same question...she told him that she was being paid by him to id EVERYONE.....he congratulated her and said she was doing a good job....oh yes he did show her his badge.

He gave everyone a slip of paper to pick theirs up at the local Kroger store. When he went to pick his up, evidently he decided turkey wasn't good enough and told the lady that he wanted to exchange his for a big ham. She explained that the slip of paper called for a turkey. He got upset and told her, by the way i am so and so and that i am the plant manager and i am responsibile for buying these gifts. She said, i don't care if you are JESUS CHRIST, the slip of paper calls for a turkey and a turkey is what you will get. Served him right.

manureman Bluefield, WV 72, joined Mar. 2008	Read an article on the internet yesterday that got under my skin. They said that there was an oil boom in Oklahoma that would bring gas prices down. He also said that there was more oil in the US than in Saudi Arabia. With modern technology, we could get to it better. Thought the US was the leader in technology. Where have they been the last few years. Remember buying gas in the 70's for 28 cents a gallon. It shouldn't be much over $2.00 now. They have been ripping us off for some time now.

elderfisherman Springfield, MO 81, joined Apr. 2013	Alex once again yer right on target , the so called gas shortage back in early 70's was a government sham ,they forced owners of individual oil wells here in the US to shut down , & then started buying more & more foreign oil, at a higher cost each year since then. the investors who own & buy oil shares love this , it makes them richer by the day.

Being the patient fellow I've learned to be, in my old age, I wrote her an email... "Since you've not called, I'll assume you have more pressing matters... so, I'll no longer sit waiting by the phone". An hour or so later she called to say she was busy with matters of the heart. Her daughter, my grand daughter, was having boyfriend problems. I call my grand daughter 'Swee'Pea'... When she was just a baby, she could only scoot, because her Mom dressed in sleepers with no feet... (Remember Swee'Pea from Popeye?) I thought to myself, but didn't say... HA! What goes around comes around... All those years I had to sort through kid peoblems... 'IF' I even had a clue what was going on.

manureman Bluefield, WV 72, joined Mar. 2008	The high prices people pay for stuff in the grocery store and when you get it home, it ain't worth a nickle. Example: Bacon. The prices have skyrocketed. Bought a pack at the store Saturday. Opened it this morning. Was the sorriest pack of bacon i ever bought. Finally got enough out of the pack to fry for breakfast, and had to throw the rest away. My theory is this: years ago,animals run free on the ground. Now, due to mass production, buildings are built as big as a armory with 3 and 4 stories with concrete floors and the animals never touch the ground and they are shot full of steroids and rushed to slaughter so they can get it to the consumer. Same way with sausage, eggs, and beef. It is not as good as it use to be.

elderfisherman Springfield, MO 81, joined Apr. 2013	Alex , there are some brands of bacon superior to others , & of course the better ones cost a mint anywhere's here about from $6.99 lb ..up to $8.99 lb , i usually buy thick slice as I can view it far more clearer to see how lean or fat it is , & I cut the pork in two ,& package for freezer 4 half slices in each pkg. & stack these in larger zip lock bag .Yes i agree the Distributors & mgfg's of our foods are not fair in pricing. & this is passed on to Grocery stores & eventually to us consumers.those living in the country are very fortunate to raise many of foods they consume. God Bless our Farmers ,

Now, i am not dumb and i know that if you get the price of a burger up to 10.00, not many people are going to pay that. But what irks me is, the person flipping the burger for $7.75 an hour has to pay the same price for a loaf of bread or a gallon of milk st the politician making $150,000.00 A YEAR. Don't seem fair.

Not since Kenedy, during the Cuban Missele Blockade Crisis, has there been a President that will back our enemies down with 'force and might'... Every war since, our troops have been given slingshots rather than the armement necessary to get the dammm job done... Put not one more boot on the ground, but rather use missiles and air strikes... Hit them HARD and don't stop 'till they surrender unconditionally... OK, I'll shut up now...
