In that case i guess there could be several reasons. Could be that they were supposed to be the designated "keep me from doing something i'll regret in the morning" friend. Could be that they've watched you hit on every girl in the joint and now see you making a move on their friend as your latest target. could be that you're the latest in a long line of guys that have tried to hit on her that night. Or could be that your approach just didn't impress her.

None of your options are really appropriate. I was a major "c*ck blocker" in college. But, I didn't prevent my friends from talking to guys or getting their digits. I did stop my friends from leaving with a guy or leaving the group to hang out with a guy (say after the party). I did this mostly for safety reasons. I never "c*ck blocked" someone that we knew (unless the girl had been drinking). I don't do this much anymore (since we're all adults) unless the woman has been drinking or is in an emotionally fragile state. That's it.

I've c*ck blocked for some of those very same reasons tany. I'm usually the most sober of my friends so it has been my job to keep them safe. Better safe than sorry.

I would say 99.99% of the time it's a girl looking out for her friend(s)...the other .01% it's jealousy

I don't think that I c*ck blocked anyone. My friends and I kind of always went with if we came together we stayed together. I guess we never drank until we didn't know what we were doing.

You are right, with the exception that most of the times its blocking a threat to an individual friend whom we're looking out for, not the group.
