What ever it takes, If it will still give them a good life... if they are going to live but be in bad pain then I will spend the cost of one shot.... but if they can pull through and still have a good life then I will empty my checking acount and If I can't do it I will surrender them to the shelter for the help they need. I have had to do that with a cat before.. she was injured and I could not afford to pay for her care, I gave her up to a local shelter and they had her treated and she now lives with my best friend and I get to see her all the time. I now volenteer with that shelter to help other furry friends out.

I agree with some of the other posters - whatever it takes but considering the circumstances. My lab is now 11 and is on thyroid and arthritis medication. He is also getting lots of fatty tumors - several of which I have had removed. When he gets to the point that medication cannot give him a quality of life, I will not keep him alive and in pain just for my sake.

My financial situation is very tight right now, but if I could make payments and the problem could be corrected, I would have to do it. One of my dogs is nearly 12, and I can see her going downhill, so I will likely let nature take it's course when the time comes. My cats are young, and indoor, so I hope there will n ot be issues. My other dog is also young, and my baby, so I will also hope for good luck and good health there!
