You are a bad judge of character at your age? Your bad

So only people who work really high paying jobs are good and decent

That has to do with upbringing and how you are as a person. ..you have to know these things

I guess not. Probably why you banged a theif

That would depend on his frame of mind and what he was doing to improve his situation. As a standard rule for me ..no!....but I wouldn't rule it completely out either, if I really liked the guy and he was really trying!....a lot of people as one person said are educated only making minimun wage in this economy.I would pick a man making minimum wage over a man who sticks his nose up at it with no job.

I know a couple down the street who both work min wage jobs, but they work very well together as a team. They do not own a house, but they keep their modest apartment so spic and span and tastefully decorated that you feel like you are walking into a small palace. They do the best they can with what they have, but unless they can manage to find better jobs with benefits, they are looking forward to a pretty sad retirement.

I don't know Starr,he may have a point about people with high paying jobs being the good and decent ones......I mean we all know of the honest reputations that lawyers, politicians, and people in Congress have.

I have made this statement before and I know it to be true from observation, study, understanding of economics.

Most men want the best looking woman[partner] (to them) that their resources can attract for them; Most women want the most "security"[however defined] that their resources(primary is attractiveness) can attract.

If he has ambitions yes. Most college/univ students are broke and working minimum wage to get ahead. If the guy can't keep a job and just bouncing around therefore can't settle down to get raises, nope. Too much immaturity right there.

pretty much.

or is he completely content doing what he's doing, and he's currently living within his means? if so no problem. but if he's mooching off of roommates, friends, parents, getting welfare, etc. no way jose

Really

If it's just dating..maybe, if it's beyond dating, oh lets move in together type thing, then it's up for discussion..living in the Bay Area is expensive and if his ambition stops at minimum wage..then I will have to say No!

Sure... I don't see why not? Besides I think it's kind of rude to ask a person how much they make... If you could take me out and treat me like a lady I don't see reason to ask you if you could afford to if you already are...

If you are not living up to your potential, you are making minimum wages- no matter how much you make,

How much money one makes is not the issue- living up to your potential is.

It's really not wages anyway- It's income.

If your income is limited to wages- Good luck! There are better ways to earn an honest living!

I know people who are more "broke" who make six figures than those who barely live above the poverty line.

If someone lives within their means and takes care of their responsibilities, I don't care what they make. I'll take that person in a heartbeat over someone who measures themselves and others by a dollar figure and/or possessions.

I learned that making 6 figures don't always last a lifetime either.

OP, at my age, probably not. Like-minded and like-lived, which includes like-aged, is important to me; I haven't had a minimum-wage job since I was 16.

I suppose there could be extenuating circumstances, but generally speaking, no...as it would probably be an indicator of other more important areas of conflict and incompatibility.
