It's hilarious. I watched two episodes a couple of weeks ago. I never need to see it again. I was in the Army. I saw it in real life, some times with predictable, horrible, sad results.
One of my favorites- because Everyone "told him so" but he just had to do it.
Short Version:

I hate to tell you this....but reality T.V. is based on what could be real, not that it is.
And since every producer is tripping over themselves to be the next one with the hit reality show, it shows the formula is working.
The premis is...Most Americans lead a cookie cutter life, so lets show them people who don't lead a cookie cutter life to fill that void.
Great huh? work hard to have a mundain life, go home and watch those who don't...and its not really real...just based on what could be real, if it was.
No to say these things don't happen...but these shows are all staged.

The ones I met in the Ukraine were highly educated, active, slim, nondrinkers, and nonsmokers. Here in the west, it is more.... love to travel, tall fit man, financially independent, no kids, my time, perfection, and soulmate.

I dated a Russian grandmother who's daughter was in the Russian Bride Program 10 years ago. The program was simple. Five American men would meet about 25 young Russian women and their mothers at a fancy hotel in Moscow on a Saturday night. When one of the guys was match up with one of the young girls, the mother looked him over and if she approved, they would go up to the room and have sex. If both returned with smiles on their faces, a match was made.

I have mentioned this before in another post but I'll say it again. If you bring a foreigner over to get married and you divorce you are still responsible for that person for the next 10 years its like alimony and child support.
