Well having lived in both types of communities “big and small” I can say I enjoy the “smaller” communities better mostly due to the fact that I enjoy the small town atmosphere. Plus I also feel there is a greater respect of accountability in smaller communities then bigger cities. People also tend to be more hospitable then in the windy city. Also if I have one more person come up to me and ask for a cigarette or pocket change I will SCREAM!!
Also if you are visiting Chicago and want to play a little car game, look for small convenient stores and look for a sign that read “LINK IS ACCEPTED HERE” and then count how many you see. Then ask yourself what does that tell you?

Sags, I love how you get abused if you don't "give" someone a cigarette or money in the city.

Yea gonna love it! Some people get very pissed off if you don’t give them a cigarette. Had on guy high as a kite telling me “oh guess you want to die alone then?”. Yea man in came in this world alone and going out the same way!
But then they go and ask us for money as well. God if I told you some of the stories (when I give them the time to listen) about why they need your pocket change you would laugh your a** off

Dude, I think I have heard or experienced most of them .... have lots of friends and my son who lives in the city. It's like dodging landmines when you go into the Loop.

I moved back to a big city and I love it. I have so many conveniences here ... I don't want to live in Chicago again ... I think that is for younger folks. Yes, I remember living and working in Chicago and dodging the cadgers but I was younger and could zig and zag through crowds easier ...
Naperville is great with library, concerts in the park, great downtown, riverwalk, festivals, and restaurants of all choices. Enjoyed the small towns when I was there. I guess I have liked every place I lived because I always found interesting people.
Laughing at those in small towns and talk about cars parked in driveways ... remembered that and laughing because it was always a relative and not as interesting as they thought ...
