I'm new so perhaps I missed something. Did not expect to find many but only found 1.
Is that a good thing or are you all trying to hide?

Hi Ccherie,

I cannot speak. Lost my voice box to cancer.

The internet has become an interesting way to meet new people.

We would definately make an interesting pair.

You cannot hear anything I would like to say.

I cannot say anything you would like to hear.

We could get together with a blind man and have a hell of a good time.

Hi Sab,

I am the first in my immediate family to contract cancer. I have a sister with cancer
who seems to do fairly well. She is a virtual warehouse of cancer information but never speaks of her own.
Its great that you could still raise children. The children should be good for you. I have been told many times that staying active is part of the key to long term survival.
Good Luck!

I admire your courage...I had a colorectal cancer scare this year, fortunately it was just a scare...but I am able to appreciate in a small way what you had to deal with

Keep counting the years. I hope you have many more.
I had almost 10 trouble free years after radiation for laryngial cancer. This round was somewhat debilitating. Hopefully my last chemo will be next week so I can have another 10!

I'm a 13 year survivor of fast moving, advance Breast Cancer. The first 2 years were real touch and go, but we all celebrated as the years went by without a reoccurrence. My Mom had breast cancer before I did and has been cancer free for many years. However, now at 91 she is having another biopsy for a highly suspicious lump.

I learned a lot through the experience and quickly learned it is the small things in life that are the most important, such as a childs laughter, a beautiful flower, sunsets, a walk on a beach or in the mountains, close family and friends and most importantly God!

Cancer Survivor in the house!
Five years cancer free!

I was the first in my family, on both side actually to get cancer.
Get this, the mamogram missed it but I found it.
If I had not found it myself, I would not be here now.
My message to women is not to depend on a mamogram to diagnosis you.
If you find a lump get an ultrasound which is what I did.
Many professional told me that I saved my own life.
I now know it was just God getting my attention.
Cancer was the best thing that ever happened to me.
I met the greatest love of my life...our Heavenly Father!

I have told many that if you ever want to meet some really 'real' folks with the biggest hearts in the world, then just go to the waiting room of a cancer doctor's office.
Those folks know as I do, that there is no guarantee that there will be another tomorrow.
Makes you become a better person and live each day to the fullest!

Tonight, I was just thread browsing and found this one.
I have some really nice folks here as well.

I am cancer free and do not have a disability, Praise God, and I hope you good people do not mind my posting here.

Hugs to all!
Lorri

I want to thank all the cancer survivors who have had the opportunity to share their stories in here. My grandma died to lung cancer in 1997. My mom, brother, and sister-in-law all have smoke for who knows how many years and are headed down the same road. I am the only non-smoker in my immediate family. Maybe that explains, in part, why I am still not in the Midwest (where they are).
