I was downstairs getting coffee the other day......
I heard "Mija...you are here! " ..turned and the man we refer to as "The Bear" was coming at me....tears forming.........
He is one of our dishwashers...HUGE man..over 6 foot 6 inches.....and at least 3 feet wide...BIG MAN.
I thought........Oh hell, wtf has happened now. The kitchen is loaded with egos...machismo... passionate personalities ......and their manager can only be handled by me. And let's just say, stuff has been known to pop off in there...like fist fights 
He said "I just found out I have 5 days of vaca left, and they are going to bookcase my off days" ...meaning he is getting his 2 days off...then vaca then his next two days off..9 days total.
He said.."I can do spend time with my preciosa....mi corazon........for 9 days and Christmas too", he was shining...........just shining.
He grabbed me...hugged me till I damn near passed out...kissed my cheek and left.
His wife has been in the hospital for over a year ya'll..........she is not coming out.
They are in their late 40's early 50's.........
Now considering all that has to be met by those in here supposedly looking to date...or to be happy with another human.........
Just a reminder...that for many...........it is actually about ..........love.

Thanks Medusa, it's those kind of stories that renew my faith that people are good and still do love one another.
Gratitude is the word this year.
We'll be zipping over to the rehab hospital for a quick visit Sweetie's friend, who's still rocking almost 4 months now in the hospital after his motorcycle wreck.
we don't have it so bad really.
