spoons of honey with cinnamon in it
Gargle w/ hot salt water
Chicken soup
Chicken broth
Vitamin A, C, E. & Zinc (immune system vitamins)
Plenty of fluids and rest.
And some TLC from a nurse

It's been proven that going out in the cold does not cause illness or exacerbate it. Old wives tale. Now if you stay out til you get hypothermia that's different. Rain ain't gonna make it worse.

bump up your zinc and vitamin C either pills and or OJ, etc.
garlic that chicken noodle soup and anything else you eat (hot pepper too..gets those juices flowing)
Saline rinse up the nose keep it moist/steam too..keep those passages moist and cleaned out
if your throat's sore..warm salt water gargles and a spoon full of honey rather than losenges
(it "sucks out" the fluid from swollen tissues AND bacteria can't grow in a high saline solution so it helps increase salinity of that part of the respiratory tract)
rest and lots of fluids
if you must an antihistamine which I don't recommend they just dry your mucousa out, but leave the cough/cold syrups alone

Zinc is always said to help. Too much zinc will deplete your iron.
Zinc not only makes me nauseous, it hurts when I take it with food or not...even if I break it in half...
