It's usually not a person's ass, that causes the craziness. So start by working on recognizing which end of them you are talking to.
However, past that, since you say you perceive them to be attracted to you, that dynamic is the place to look for your solution.
Looking at it from your side, it can appear that you are attracting them. However, if you look at it fro another angle, all that is certain is that you are being subjected to attention from a nutcase. If you realize that nutty people have to do the pursuing in order to find mates (not very many people are drawn TO nutty people), the fact that you happen to be among their targets is less significant.
In other words, EVERYONE has nuts chasing them, because nuts chase the whole world.
What you want to focus on instead, is why you don't ALSO have a few non-nut people after you. Chances are that this isn't due to your being especially defective, and instead be due to the fact that after the age of about 20, most people need to do some of the pursuing, if they want to find someone they actually like.
Now, if you find that you are CHOOSING to chase nuts, then we have to have a different discussion.
