When you take away the unions strong arm tactics, bribery and millions of dollars of political special interest donations, it levels the free market allowing non union to not be suppressed..
Here, non union scale is way higher than union..The work ethics and safety records of the non union has taken almost all the union contracts in my area.. Clients got tired of being ripped off, after seeing better and safer workers at a much lower cost, that was it..The union did it to themselves.

Bush said no it is not another bad government program.

What you say -are you getting paid for talking?- is what the government wants the public to believe because, my dear, the ultimate goal is to do away with public education...specially at the high school level.
Grammar school will provide the necessary -and basic- skills to help the big business and college is not a problem because the students pay for the courses they take...from their pockets or with student loans.
BTW The student loans will saddle the students for life with debts up to the hundred of thousands.

School Districts are funded by head count, NOT individual schools. Charter Schools are also part of the School District.
Come on people, stop making things up, in hopes that someone will believe you.

Many people, specially the OP, talk against the UFT but they know pidd about its "job".

Teachers in NC are dropping out of the profession like flies and baby boomers are retiring. If I wanted to come out of retirement and get a job tomorrow, it would take maybe 48 hrs. All of our universities combined don't even come close to providing the number of teachers needed to fill the vacant teaching positions for each year. Out of state teachers are hesitant to pick up and move to a state that is no longer teacher friendly. Principals will be looking for warm bodies to just sit in their math, science, special ed classes...actually all of them now. It is a huge problem, so OP, you may get your wish. Kids may have to be home schooled to get a decent education. The vouchers to private schools don't pay enough to cover the tuition and many of the charter schools owned by corporations are failing. So, OP, your hate on teachers is being wasted because the majority of them want out. They love teaching and the students, but that doesn't pay the bills and it isn't worth the stress of the thankless job. Many states are going through this now...mainly red states, but not all.
