I just got an email (via Change.org) from Ashton Kutcher. He is upset because tables for changing diapers are only in the ladies' room, not in the men's room. Since he is a new father he wants to be able to change his child's diaper when he is out.
Suppose you are a single father or you are dating a single father. The baby sitter or baby mama stuck him with the baby at the last minute. You have tickets to a special event and you have to bring the baby. Who gets the diaper duty?

You can't go out alone with the kid if that's the case.. you gotta bring a diaper changer with you.
Kids don't toilet until 3 or 4 even 5 years old

What's wrong with doing it on the back of the car in the store carlot and dumping the dirty diaper in a shopping cart...that method has worked at Walmart for years...

This is very interesting. So if you are on a date with Ashton Kutcher you make sure he takes you to Colorado where they have changing tables in the men's room.(Colorado is a very enlightened state.) Or you track down Mila Kunis and make her change the kid who is screaming her brains out. Or you have him take the kid back to the limo and do the changing there.
He probably has a nanny anyway.

3 weeks in a row then she got em one week etc...
Walmarts do have changing tables in the stores mens rooms...
So does home depot in my area and a ton of others including mcdonalds...
What a waste of his time...

That's known in the retail world as the infamous 1st of the month dumps !!
I worked retail management in my younger days. The Rite Aid Corp if you must know
and at the end of the day the parking lot was littered with hundreds of dirty, filled
to beyond capacity diapers.
Couldn't drive thru the damn parking lot without hit about a dozen of them I.E.D's
(ign**gerant explosive diapers ) 
Lucky ( and of course ) there was a car wash down the block

Changing tables outside the home were a rare oddity when mine were in diapers. I'm not seeing the problem...he can do what you and I had to do, and everyone before us.
The one or two times I actually got to use one, I found them awkward - I had to lay the baby sideways and work kind of backwards.

I can answer that, because I had babies when a lot of public restrooms didn't have changing tables. It was often pretty terrible, trying to balance a baby on a narrow, hard surface next to a sink while someone waited impatiently to wash her hands or check her make-up. It was precarious and uncomfortable but, more to the point you seem to be making, it was a significant inconvenience for the non-parents trying to use those same public restrooms. Putting us parents and our entitled kids (damn those babies wanting not to sit in shit!) in a designated area is better for everyone concerned, since we don't get in the way of those just out for a nice meal who don't want to stand by and wait for me to mop the shit off of a baby's butt before returning to their dinners.

I've never minded when a man brought a young son in who couldn't wait for the full men's room and I wouldn't mind a man bringing in a baby.
Mind, I wouldn't use the stall till he was gone, but I wouldn't object. Kids come first, then emergencies (if an adult male).

At one point I had three in diapers (there are only 34 months between my eldest and third born). Cloth diapers.
(the druid in me, plus one was allergic to pampers)
What I did was spend about three hours of my day, every day, dealing with diapers...changing them, washing them, hanging them on the clothesline, folding them...

The changing stations are in men's rooms all over now, but I agree they are very unsanitary. A diaper bag should always contain a changing matt (that parent cleans well after every use}, baby wipes and also some disenfectant wipes.

if they provide them in the women's they should provide them in the men's rooms as well.
do I think we're entitled as customers to those? nope..I took my daughter (as they really didn't have those back then) out to the car, yeah it was hot..A/C on..diaper change in progress..toxic zip lock bag check..done.

I do not take babies to events. If I have to be with baby, I skip the event. Baby should not be exposed to the: noise, smoke, crowd, etc. At home, I can handle diaper duty fine.
