It is possible but according to the article and you tube video head to body transplants have been somewhat successful on rats dogs and a monkey.
What is your opinion on the morality of this subject.

I believe the physician that was able to keep a dog alive after transplanting a head to it was Dr. Thomas DeBakey. Dr. DeBakey was an eminent pioneer in human heart transplants. A lot of prejudiced and virulently anti_semitic posters on this site would have wanted such an authentic American hero dead because he was of Arabic descent.

When you hear about "eye transplant, they are basically talking about or given the cornea from a donor, not the ENTIRE eyeball is switched out. The biggest problem they face is how to grow optical nerves.
A REAL eye You need to reconnect the donor eye's nerve fibers back to the recipient's brain in order to achieve vision restoration. They're unable to completely cut and reconnect all connections from a donor to recipient from the optic nerve to the eye.
Once they make that cut, the nerve fibers just do not regrow on their own.
The reason so many are given Ocular Prosthesis( Fake Eyes) hence the reason they will never move in sync, but hopefully they will be able to do COMPLETE successful eyeball transplants someday.
As far as head transplants.
Um, first of all that would require the brain stem to be severed completely which causes instant death.
