I've been on this site for a while, probably longer than most. I stopped coming here for a bit when I was working 18/7 last summer. I really got frustrated when the limits were put on "chatting", that was my final straw.

Now I'm back and scouring the forums for interesting new people to meet and find out that not only do people turn off winks, but limit age ranges that can contact them. How stupid is that? It's kinda like going to a bar and putting up a shield around ya so no one can talk to ya, just look.

Pretty stupid dating tactic. If you don't want to be contacted why are you on here? Those same women probably wonder why they aren't getting swamped with friend requests as well.

I suggest you open up your profile and say something intelligent and accept people for who they are. You can block anyone later if it's a problem. Turn on the winks and have fun. Most of the people I know on here came from a wink. I reply to everyone with at least a wink back and more if they want. It's a dating site... geezleweez

Ladies if you aren't meeting people then why come on here, and if you limit it to the age range you are looking for you're missing out on a lot of opportunity. Delete your profile and stay home. You'll get the same results.

The next person you meet could introduce you to the love of your life, it happens that way a lot in the real world, this is no different. The love of your life may not know this site exists but could know someone that does.

My last relationship lasted 30 years, I met her through a friend. Most of my friends are 20 years younger than me, they don't have a problem with it. At the bars I go to I talk to people in their 20's and they have no problem with it but here it seems the focus is just on someone, anyone, as long as they are not "OLD."

So much for the "Youth of America," we are so screwed.

This site gets more screwed up weekly. I'm amazed at the extremes people go to to be "safe."

Thanks for posting Cowfish... I did get an email about this thread and they claimed it was about not having "anything in common" with someone younger or older. Apparently it's about what you have in common. HOw so you know what you have in common if you never communicate.

Most profiles in here are about nothing in general... yep that gets me interested... lol

Oh well I guess I'll head out to the real world for some face time with my much younger and older friends...

BTW I work with a 22 year old and we have a lot in common and laugh about life in general, she even likes me.... people amaze me most days.

Hi copter...I also work with a lot of younger people and have a lot in common with them. I date a number of much younger women and have a lot in common with them. In real life there is no problem with my age. I am just me, they either like me or don't.

Online, my age does seem to be a bigger problem to a lot of ladies, I don't mean just the younger ones. Some of the ones closer to my age will at times tell me I am too old for them...LOL If they only knew...LOL

Age is a number...but when I see a profile that says 18 to 99...hummm...My dad is still living and well that would seem kinda weird to me...and my son is 18 so that would seem kinda weird as well...but I think I do need to raise my max # now that I've had a birthday and all...

The reason for the age of 18 to 99 is so that all people can contact me if they want. Otherwise only people within the age you have listed can write to you.

If you stay within a small age range, that is the only people that can contact you. I am open to friends of all ages.

Seeing as I am over you upper age, I could not write you a email about a comment or any other thing. Unless you wrote me first. As I have the whole range of age open for people writing to me.

I was not commenting to anyone...only the thread...I did not look at your profile before (you already knew that but others don't)...now that I have, I see that you don't have 18 to 99 listed anyhow, so I don't think there was any reason for you to think I was commenting to anyone other than the OP.

I'm not the webmaster...I did not type a program that prohibits you from contacting me and I already stated that I thought I should raise the max age...(Trying to decide to what)...I don't have any shields up...I have winks turned on...I have plenty of friends...I have told others about the site and they have joined...and I never call anyone 'OLD' because when I get there I won't think of myself that way.

The site does not let someone to contact you outside your age range you have listed. By keeping a wide age range you allow more people or friends to contact you.

I am not taking offense, just pointing out things to you. I seldom get upset about anything...LOL

with all due respect on your ages.. you are looking for a woman that is 20 years younger than you...

perhaps us older ladies, see that as an obstacle that could not be over come in the future, if some young thing came in the picture... can't compete with elasticity or youth...
so from the older ladies after reading that... i imagine they would just be cyber friends.

now there might be some younger out there for you... i mean it is a dating site for all kinds.

hope you get what you want and deserve as a human being...
happy hunting on dh....

Okay...my age range is 19 to 99 or something like that...and I dont care what anyone thinks...
but dammit..Copter...my winks are turned off cuz I get to many winks...and they bust back my emails from friends...and then I have three pages of winks and miss out on answering an email!
If you want to talk!?
Send me an email.
I may not be able to answer the same day...but I try very hard to NEVER ignore an email...if its polite and not a gross sexual proposition....thats just my little thing...LOL..
And if you want to wink?
You can send an email that says...
WINK!!!!!

JMO..

but...yeah...I absolutely hate the age limit thing.
Not fair.
I have friends that are 17, and friends that are 70.
There is no age limit there.
That restriction is just wrong.
Hell...if they had that when DH first started?
I never would have met YOU...and figured out what an absolutely cool human being and wonderful man you are!

Luv Ya!!!!!!!!!!!!

(((((((((hugs)))))))))))))

FYI, the age restriction only applies to men writing to women. Women can email men regardless of their age range.

I am not sure about precise algorithm, but if a guy is outside a woman's age range, if his age is within 10 years of her the message seems to go thru.

The age restricted groups allow two years on each side, so for the 40s you can be anywhere from 38 to 52.

I'm sure all the 18 your olds want men my age contacting them I think the sight is just fine the way it is. it kinda limits some of the players from playing games. Do you think this site would be as it is now if they didn't have restrictions. No, it would be like most where people just talk al kinds of BS and if you want that. Go play on myspace

What about the young women on here that are 18 and don't want to talk to older men.
Thats there choice. Now if it's public in the forums, thats all good. Why would you want to chat in private with an 18 year old? I know if it was my daughter, she wouldn't.

Also I had to change mine. I was getting to many young guys emailing me and that's my choice.
