I am new here and received some very nice welcome messages when I first signed up. I also received some messages from guys that made me feel uncomfortable. I set my account to invisible to stop them but what is the point of being here if I do that?
I moved to Silver Lake recently after living most of my life in Puyallup. I thought I would send some messages to the women in my area that I saw on the members here. I introduced myself hoping to meet some new people and asked if they had any experiences they could share and if they could offer any advise about this site. I received a response from all but one that deleted my message. (I guess that does not mean they did not read it). Although the other responses were very kind and helpful, the rudeness of this one really upset me. She could be my neighbor for all I know. The other women said some women do not try to get to know anybody and just respond to the men. Is this true? Why would a woman be so rude to another woman?

Women can be so unkind to each other. I mean, don't we get enough abuse and misunderstanding from the opposite gender.. do we have to treat each other that way as well? We should be allies, and friends.
I guess my only thought on that is that you wouldn't have wanted someone like that as a friend anyway, regardless of what sex she was.

Regarding setting your profile to invisible.. wouldn't it be better to just block the offenders? if someone sends you an e-mail you don't care for, go to their profile and at the bottom, you can choose "block user".

Wow not on this Washington site, I have met some very nice friends on here and both genders speek to each other like friends and thats really cool for me. I have gone to a couple of parties that they have on this site and they have all been awsome. I am looking foward to meeting more people in the future even Maria some day I hope. So I think you can talk to just about anyone on this site and they will be very friendly to you. Thats my two cents and I am sticking to it. Take care and enjoy.

Being rude is not limited to any particular site, there are rude ones everywhere. I will have to say that for 99.9% of the time it has been great. You are a very nice looking lady, perhaps the others felt threatened in some way, if so, kudos to you, get'm on the run.
There are some great people on the WA forum, once in while whoevers turn it is to watch the gate, will let someone slip in, but our patrols watch and they are gone...
And yes, if the mail says deleted, does not mean they didn't read it....
It takes all kinds to make the world go round. Make simply a case of mind over matter....you don't mind and they no longer matter.
Welcome to our group and your right why be on here if you are going to be invisiable....come out come out, wherever you are..

The only thing i can think of is its a competition thing. You know how it goes, a woman can be your best friend and then turn on you with a drop of a dime. Just remember not all women are mean and rude, some of us actually like having women friends and arent thinking of everything as a competition! Take care

I recently moved here from Montana, and I was on Montana chat for a while. I have heard, and read all kinds of stories about the rude and the restless. I am here in Washington for a while staying with my Grandkids trying to figure out where I want to be, or go in life. I have to say, in an honest oponion, don't trust anyone for a very long time. Your best friend(or someone you thought was your friend) will crap on you the fastest, male or female. It is a dog, eat dog world out there and everyone is out for themselves. Has it occured to you that maybe she didn't even open your email? It's possible she saw an email from a woman in her inbox and deleted it because she assumed you were a lesbian.
