I followed both the political rally's around selling stuff and heard everyone speak many times. I voted for Obama. Obama brings fresh and new ideas to the table. He may not be the experience everyone is looking for, but look at who is backing him. Colin Powell, The Clinton's, 11 out of 12 Alaska newspapers, and Opera. Not only does he have some of most influential people in economic affairs and education, there a dozen or so military leaders willing to help him with these two wars that have gone on for way too long. If you didn't vote for Obama, or didn't vote at all, well you need to get on board anyway and try ad help this country get back on its feet. Otherwise my fellow Americans, it's game over.

I would love to hear from someone what our president elect is really going to do about everything that is going on in this country. I'm not really heard him say anything about what he's going to do. All I've heard is "change" My question is: What change??

Anyone really know what his plans are for this country? I never heard him really talk about real issues much less Mr. McCain. Neither one really said anything about how they were going to change this country.

Blessings,
Char

change has begun in my eyes with UNITY. don't you agree? I mean, to demand change is one thing, but for all to join in and make change happen is another. he spoke of health care reform, health care for everybody. how he plans on doing it? we shall see once he comes out with the plan.
do you feel that gas prices were high, to kind of put a stronghold on Bush, and now that he is on his way out, things are on their way to normal in the gas prices? that makes me wonder.
I do believe change is coming. Just having Bush out of there, though I did support him as my president, is a good thing. time will tell. Rome was not built in a day, but demolishion always take less time than building, so if it took 8 years to destroy, how many will it take to rebuild? Inpatient? You can always leave the country you know
!
Face the facts. if you expect change right now! you might as well go hide in a corner, and let that be your change. The work has just begun, but in my eyes there is someone with a passion, and certainly some much needed ENERGY going to the WHITE HOUSE now! JMO

Go to his web site and you will have an opportunity to read what he has been saying for months now. Of course talk is cheap and every politician can talk with the ability of a used car salesperson. Proof of the pudding is in the eating. President Bush and crew had eight years and look at where the country is under their "great" care. Some hate the fact President-elect Obama has a chance and some of that hate is for old fashion reasons we all know about. Like over 65 million others, I'm will to give him and whatever team he brings to D.C. and chance. And if he doesn't measure up, I can't wait to cast another vote for "change." But we gave this administration eight years and they are driving right over the cliff. I suspect the new "leaders" will need folks to be realistic and allow time to scale back up the cliff and get us back on solid ground.

I'm not inpatient as you say. And I have read "reform, reform" but not the hidden facts that they don't want people to know. Such as if you don't get the health care they want you to have, you will be fined. I want to know everything as to how and what he plans on doing before it is put in legislation.

As far as gas prices going down, that's happened every year that we have elections and then goes right back up again. I want to know what he's going to do about our constitution. I'm interested in what bills he will sign now that he has already declared executive orders so congress is left out of any decisions.

And people that are so hyped up about american having a black president, it doesn't matter what color the man is. Most of us are more interested in the issues that will effect everyone's lives. Not just a certain race.

Blessings,
Char

Quote from jambo2000:
I can't believe how stupid Palin is. How can someone not know which countries are in North America? Maybe she thought Russia was a part of North America since they are so close? I can understand a normal person not knowing that Africa was not a country, but a politician should know that it is a continent. Also, how can you justify spending $150,000 in clothing and makeup.. Most american families could LIVE off of Palin's clothing for years! How many homeless people could they have fed with that money?

I did not want to vote in the election but since i live in Virginia i knew how important it was for Obama so i voted for him. The Republicans are a pretty evil group of individuals and i dont think the democrats are that far behind, but you can not compare to the stupidity of Bush and Palin. Religion is the biggest cause of War and in the US politics and religion were mixing WAY way too much.

I agree with most of your comments except, I do not see anything wrong with spending $150K on clothing and make-up if its income you have earned. McCain/Palin/Bush are birds of a feather that flock together. Americans should be ashamed of themselves for voting for these nitwits, each of whom barely finished high school. McCain hung himself by having Palin as his running mate. "ATTENTION ALL WALMART SHOPPER YOU MAY NOW ESCORT SARAH PALIN TO HER TRAILER PARK SHE CAME FROM." I proudly voted for PRESIDENT Obama.

"""oBUMo has not been sworn in - he IS NOT president."""

I guess adding -elect would make you feel better. You might as well get over the last election results becasue he will be President by noon on 1-20-2009. And we will waive bye to the great President Bush as he heads off to Texas and his place in history. Too bad he won't deliver one more State of the Union address to lay out all his wonderful achievements. But as he said, history will be the judge of how effective he was as a leader. I bet those who read about the 43rd President will have eyes that water over...

I do not hate the damn man (oBUMo). I just detest his politics and goals.

For the record, I voted for Bob Barr.

He effectively is President at this point.

Both my sister and I voted for Obama because of his policies and how he defended his position without all of the political (insert expletive here) slinging that generally goes on in elections, particularly those of this magnitude.

I would like to see him make it through at least this term and hopefully another, but I have a unfortunate suspicion he'll be assassinated at some point just because of his race. That isn't a logical reason for anyone to base a decision on and anyone who does should be ashamed.

Hooray for Obama! Our next President of the United States!!

I have gotten a pretty good laugh at reading some of these things that yall are writing. Personaly i didnt vote for either one of them, i didnt vote at all. I dont think either was was good enough to be in office, and its not a color thing for me, i think that obama was to young, and macain, is too damn old, im sure he would have died by the time his 4 years were up and i dint want to see the b*tch get office. The only thing that i can say is i hope he proves all of us wrong, and i hope that he does good for this country.
