A woman once abused is as a bird with a wing broken. Your intention to set its bones and keep it from irreversable injury is misinterpretted as an attempt to take advantage of its vulnerability and it will fight you to where it is further injured. Guys remember not to be too pushy or impatient. You can only be as close to her heart as she will allow. Ladies you hafta reallize also that tha man you left will haunt your Life as long as you tolerate it. Life is a complex tangle of choices that amount to a gamble when you look back at it. Don't bite tha hand that feeds you or fight tha one that heals you unless you wanna remain a victim of tha memories. It's time to allow some new memories to fill your Mind and heart.

You are so right. An abused woman must realize that it really wasn't about her. It's about control. Letting someone help you heal releases bitterness. If you don't let go of the bitterness that abuse will continue to control your life and you will never be happy.

Happy : you are wright, i was in a relationship for 32 years and it took me some time to realize i had to let go and forget all the bitterness before i could move on. Sometime you think it will never get better but it does and life go's on.

As an abused woman that has been out of the relationship for 10 years now I can tell you it's not easy to forget. No matter how hard you try there is always a touch a look or even a smell that will take you back. As gentle and loving as my ex boyfriend was to me there was things I couldn't allow him to do it would take me back to the 2nd husband everytime. Still I can't take a bath only showers, yes I try to forget but sometimes even the dreams are there. You can never fully let go no matter what.

Wow ... really deep. I know that abusive is a control issue whether it be mentally, emotionally, or physically. I had to learn that it wasn't my fault at the reasoning and learned to love myself.

I didn't know it was a control issue...I always just thought it was rage, and an instinct that when she felt hurt, she wanted to hurt back...but somehow, I was always strong enough to know it really wasn't about me.
