I recently wrote this and wanted to share........
“For All The Wrong Reasons”
You said you needed a friend
And I held out my hand-
For all the wrong reasons
You said you needed someone to care
And I Did-
For all the wrong reasons
You said you needed someone to Love you
And I said that I did-
For all the wrong reasons
You said you needed me forever
But I had to go
For all the wrong reasons
Now the seasons have passed
And As I look back-
Would it have made a difference?
Had I but only loved you -
For all the Right Reasons.

Suzy,
I can relate to your poem, and in response, my poem follows:
"Love Hurts. Love Heals"
How many times can a heart be broken
and still heal itself to love once again?
To once more hear words that are spoken
that call out for a new romance to begin.
Why must love bring with it so much hurt
to those who only seek comfort from it?
As an innocent bird we must stay alert
and prepared to retreat rather than submit.
Although the memories of a true love linger on
with an emptiness in my heart that no one feels,
I go forth once again, offering a love so strong
and never forgetting that love hurts; love heals.
