its hard for me to get the 'out of my league' concept. i don't even know what league im in. if we look at what my family has i might be out of some people's league but if u look at what i've earned on my own, then im in the little league, lol.
i like people based on various reasons, it could be things we both have in common, similar interests (cooking, martial arts, health/medicine, skateboarding, politics, spirituality or it could be something about their character or beliefs or attitude or initially their looks.
i can have connect having dimsum with those chinese gangsta boys or at a banquet with reps from the chinese consulate. or a viet biker in cali, lol.

I have dated millionares.. and had the chance to marry one of the top ten eligible bachelors in Vermont 10 yrs ago. My kids cried like babies when I respectfully declined lol He was a awesome guy.. but.. he needed someone who would be willing to go to all those stuffy ass formal dinners, rub elbows with the others " in his league", not be caught running barefoot in public or washing the car in the rain. He loved me for me.. but I knew that I would not be able to " fake" who I was among his piers and I just can't fake it well.. well.. ummm in some circumstances.. I cud lol

If I met a woman who thought blue collar guy's like myself are beneath her, then I would not want to date her even if by doing so I could change her mind. I like down to earth type of people. So dating someone who thinks they are somehow better (job, money, surname, etc) would turn me off.

I think that those who say it doesn't matter if they dated someone out of their " league" ( those with money and status) isn't being truthful
lol Troy.. He had a sister I think. I can just see you drinking tea wiff her friends with your lil pinky suspended daintly in the air as you took a sip

I define "out of your league" as someone who thinks they can find someone better then me; can mean (but not limited to) having a lot more money than me.

lol @ troy for the grey poupon.
i think we're living in a different world today then in the past. rich or wealthy, millionaire or billionaire doesn't automatically mean someone was born with the silver spoon in their mouth anymore. there r a lot of millionaires today who r ghetto and made their money from music or sports, girls whose pretty faces were discovered when they were 14 years old and they only got their GED's but they made millions as models, lets not forget the drug dealers and pornographers; people who made easy dotcom money or lucked up on gambling, legal or illegal, lotto or stocks. someone makes a million for creating paper squares with adhesive on the back.
money doesn't make rich people special or better, though sometimes they believe they are and r treated like they r. but these days there r so many who were regular working class or middle class and THEN got rich they they r still smirked at by those with "old money".
anyway it was really his loss, tru.

Just because someone has alot of money doesn't make them a better person and if they think they are better there wrong. Some of the richest people that i have ever met are the worst people i have met. If you judge someone on how much money they have or don't have you are out of there league. I am not sure what league i want to be in because sometimes people look down on you because do have something to offer.

Well.. it's more than just the money part of it. It's a whole slew of things that is connected to one another. Not long ago.. I met someone who I knew was out of my league. He was very handsome.. very settled.. took alot very seriously.. not the -Hey, let's go out and build a snowman kind of guy. He will be a hell of a catch for a woman who is in his league. I mean.. really, there is sucha thing as being in or out of someone's league.. dont ya think?
This does not mean that I feel like I'm not good enough! It simply means different lifestyles

I at one time could say I always thought I could have anyone that I wanted, but I was in vegas this year, and went to see the crazy girls, and could not talk to them when they came out. It was the first time that had ever happened to me.

tj.. I reckon league means different things to different people. It's a term I'm not sure that I even like to use with people.. but it is used for the lack of a better one

i hear what you are saying tru just i feel there should be no what you would call leagues people are going to do what ever makes them comfortable and i guess if they look like they live in the street and feel comfortable talking to supermodle more power to em not saying the supermodle will talk back though that to me is wrong, what harm is man who has nothing to someone that does or visa versa. they are people to and everyone has feelings no matter who they are.
