What kind of man or woman would you consider to be " Out of your league"?

Would you even go to the extent of marrying someone out of your league?

If you are a princess type would you date a scuzzy band member?

If you are a cowboy type would you date a woman CEO long term?

Would a prince charming type pursue a woman in rags?

For those of you who uses this term.. what does it mean?

Hey Trub ,I think thats a vey good question, but you know as well as I do that opposites attract for some reason so I personally dont believe in that. I think love can happen in strange ways.Very good thread I like it! MIke

Thanks Mag. I have to admit that I have used this term before. Usually.. it has to do with their lifestyle. I believe that opposites can attract but don't think that the relationship would last very long. It depends on what the differences are

I agree with Mag. Tru, you're hittin em out of the park today!

I've always taken that phrase to mean that I thought that someone was better than I. If I use it the way you have then yes, my husband was considered "out of my league". No one could understand what we saw in each other at first but once they were around us for 5 minutes they knew we were perfect together! I say always take a chance.

I'm not sure exactly what someone out of my league would be. I believe that you need to have some common interests to form a foundation for a relationship, but you certainly don't want someone the same. I want someone that can teach me things as well as me teaching them. Someone who strong where I am weak. I think that if one doesn't approach another b/c they think they are not in the same league, then they are taking a chance on missing something that may have been great.

I think " league" has much to do with money and status.. which can change in a blink of an eye. It may seem trite but I think you have to look beyond that. What is on the inside is what is going to matter down the road. Money, status, looks are not guaranteed down the road.
I think... that the best relationships.. partnerships..are the ones where both parties think that they have gotten someone " out of your league". It does happen.. just is rare

I guess I would be considered.. the " the woman in rags" lol Sooo... if I read a profile where that seems "out of my class" I just don't respond. I mean.. what would someone like dat want with someone like me? THAT would be my question and concern. I'm the " live simple, barefoot, play in the rain kind of girl. Can't see someone who is high in status and money wanting someone like that, do you?
I actually was dating a cop and we had an awesome time.. til his dad died ( after just winning the million dollar lottery) and the money was left to Tom. He dumped me because I was not " high-mantenance" and that was what he decided he wanted. Of course.. when he was just a working stiff like myself.. I was good enough for him

I'm not real certain that there IS a league persay when it comes to attraction/dating/love. I've always been of the opinion that if two people are attracted to one another and interested in one another.................then allow them to go for it. To hell with social status........
