Dude! seriously, all kinds of women want all kinds of things. A man who knows what he wants is an aphrodisiac though.

Most women do want a good man with a job and security. However, most of us want that plus everything else. I have dated both types. Somehow I find myself more attracted to the ones who are rough around the edges, have no stable job, and cheat on everybody they are with... very curious. However, what women say they want and what they really want are two different things. I would love to have a man that has a stable job, that I don't have to support, one that is caring, mature, intelligent... I say this but I always find chemistry with the ones that are exciting, rough, and are not stable.
This does not go for all women. Just some. Many of them are like myself. However, there are few lucky ladies who know what they want, find it and keep it. They are the ones that get the good men. I guess I am just screwed.

Over half a million people lost their jobs last month through no fault of their own. Glad you have a good job, but job security isn't really something most of us can count on right now. Saw on the MSN headlines a few days back that couples are staying together for financial reasons.
Like Ge0 said the other day, we're gonna see more and more people either moving back in with their parents or getting back together with an ex (or sharing a place with a sibling or whatever) for help with the bills. Doesn't make them a loser, a cheater, or a failure.

I might be outside the norm on this one, wait, I usually am anyway. I stand on my own two feet, I expect a man to do the same. I don't want someone who is going to support me, blah blah blah blah blah, because I never want to be trapped having to depend on someone else, but maybe that's just my own self respect. As long as he's paying his own way and not trying to mooch off me, then I don't give a hoot what they do. Money is secondary to me, I want someone who isn't afraid to be who they really are, and realise that money isn't the most important thing.

Oh, OK, I see where you're going with this. She basically replaces the first guy with one who isn't as reliable.
When my mom's favorite high school football team loses, she wants whoever beat them to go all the way and win State. That way, she can honestly say the only team that beat hers was unstoppable!
I was replaced with not one but two strippers...we're all employed...don't know what to tell ya!

OP, why don't you try and restate the original topic so that we are all on the same page.
What is it exactly that you are asking? Take your time so we're not guessing.
Thanks,
Bry

For sure. For now I am okay, but I know I am some risk to lose my job should the economy get much worse. I have survived layoffs three times before in my life, and have always got through them and wound up even better off within a few years. So, it would not stop me from seeing someone if they had lost their job, so long as I know they are working full time looking for another job or retraining. I have decided I am going to get a certification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language so that if I do get laid off I can qualify for a job overseas - I can always rent out my condo and my three cats would just have to come with me and learn to travel.

I make my own living and don't need a man with a good job, to support me. However, I do want a man that has worked at the same job for years that has the stability to support me emotionally, physically and mentally.
