here is the scenario...a couple has been broken up for less then a week. They both mutually agreed on the break up...one of the people goes on a little outing and makes out with someone else. This couple had been together for almost 4 years.....would you be hurt? could you get over it? Also, if this helps...the person who did the making out was supposidly telling the person that they were making out with that they still loved that person that they were dating for almost 4 years right before it happened....I know this is kind of confusing but help me out here? Could you get over this and do think the other person has a right to be mad even though they were broken up???

i agree to move on, but most literature say that a person should wait about a yr. to really date again

I believe a person should "move on" immediately with the healing process. Not moving immediately into another persons bed or life. Everyone needs time to get over a relationship and be fully emotionally prepared to begin a new relationship before they move on to the next, whether that amount of time is 2 months or 2 years.

Well, once there is a breakup, either party is free to date as soon as they like to. Yes, I would be hurt if it was me but still, the other person has the right to see whomever they like.

I think all folks are different in how we handle a break up.As for myself it took me a good year to be able to go out and know i wasn't going to be thinking of him anymore...

Well apparently the maker outter wasn't that into the relationship to begin with or the break up hurt more than they cared to admit..and wanted to find comfort with someone else..
I think moving on too soon could have a rebound affect!! not fair to the person you are moving on to!!

The sooner the better.

However, it's best that one not move on until he/she is over whatever it is. Heal first, then move on. Some people heal quick easily, some people cannot. Everyone is different.

If they mutually broke up, neither has a right to be made about anything.

Moving on is a choice, it's when they choose to accept it and put it behind them. Some it takes months to do, others a matter of seconds.

Love doesn't stop once it becomes love. It lasts a life time even though they find a new love, the old love never dies, if it'was love to start with.

I still love my first wife. Haven't seen her in over 19 years. Accepted that can't go back, but, the love is still there never the less. Doesn't mean I can't love another as much if not more. It means, I didn't shut off that part of me that keeps me open as well as passionate.

Walls is what really hurts, keeping it all inside where it can't get out. Some say it's to keep from being hurt again. It just doesn't work like that. They are just kidding themselves.

Right away, if hew can't curb his appetite for a week, it's only going to get worst before it get better!

There are people i got over in a day and others took months and one took a few years. The most important thing is that you heal before you get into another relationship. I dated a few people that were not ready and should have not even put it out there but they did and i learned more of what to look for.
