Being alone is hard... especially like during the holidays... it will be interesting to see how many are on here on Christmas day.. I more than likely will be. I guess I miss the companionship more than anything...except not having someone to cuddle with at night. Takes a lot of adjustment and its no fun either. A lot of people say that we'll find the one meant for us...but sometimes I actually wonder if that's not just something we tell ourselves to cope with the loneliness better??? I hope everyone on here finds what they're looking for.

Now I know why I did put up with so much crap...it was to keep from feeling like this...You know they say you can't miss what you never had. But dammit I have had it and I miss the hell out of having a special man in my life. I'd settle for some serious LIKE. And yeah I'll be here Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and on thru to Super Bowl Sunday probably....I'll be breakin out my Grinch movie pretty soon...Maybe he will kick Rudolph's butt this year...LOL

I know the feeling of this thread all too well. You reach 40 and you're still alone and start thinking, "My God, is this all there is?" Life is going to work and doing the laundry? It's a horrible feeling and, as some of you have said, it is magnified around the holidays. I HATE THIS TIME OF YEAR!!

You should try being in your 60s and living in Montana in the middle of no where. NOT FUN That's why I am in Florida for the winter, but still alone.

Remember the song "It's Hard To Be Humble" ??? I've learned to enjoy my own company after all these years.. I'm not perfect in everyway but I sure do enjoy my own interest and I'm not going to make me mad... but I do have fun...just going out and playing .. Hang In there ya'll .. It does get better ..

Just glad I have my happy dogs to come home to.....someone to let me know that they missed me and are genuinly happy that I am back......they make it worth while....Hey...I take what I can get.

I guess im still blesed by having family around the house...
Even though its not the same human touch I long for, It is enough to get me by for now...
I dont like to complain about what I dont have, but like to express my happiness for what I do have!
Each day I release all of my negativity in my prayers to God, then I sleep well and the next day starts out so well!

Try this...
My eldest who is currently living in Orlando with
her hubby & my granddaughter, are leaving for good
to live in Arizona with my youngest and her family,
this coming Dec 20th...how sad is that???
At least I have you people and my roommie, but he will
probably be working. I never decorate anymore! Maybe
I should, just for kicks. I know I will be spending more
time on the phone at nights after my daughter moves.
I wish I had a big place to "house" some Florida people,
as we could all have a big dinner together! Oh well!
I like to read alot and I enjoy my own company...I only get
lonely thinking about my family.

Well last year with my son being in Afghanistan I was faced with being alone on Christmas day so I called up a few friends to see what they were doing...as it turned out about 4 of them were going to be alone too...so I invited them all here and cooked Christmas dinner for them and we had a great time...Not sure what I'll do this year.

I am in the middle of getting divorced. If I think about it I have been alone for a long time even though I was married for 7 years. You can be alone and married at the same time, that is worse. It scared me to be single during the holidays.
