After 25 years of living in different ends of the house, I`m glad to not have to tiptoe around to keep from having a confrontation. Besides now I can make a phone call without being accussed of being unfaithful. Anyone up for an "alone party" in Hot Springs Arkansas?

I am so sorry...I lost my wife almost two years ago and I have been alone ever since...I miss her and I do miss the kisses hugs and the close friendship that we shared...it is really difficult this time of year...I wish I was closer to you Cherry we could share our aloneness...and maybe it would go away....do not give up....there is always..Hope

I have to agree it is lonely not having anyone to come home too since my divorce..but, on the flip side, I have had so much fun being single...I'm in no hurry to get married again, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to have someone special in my life, just not living with me at the moment...I'm taking this year of being a single mom for what its worth...I'm seeing myself for what I am, not for what I was expected to be..

I love the holidays - especially Christmas - I am from PA and I miss walks in the snow - holding hands, shopping for gifts in lil craft shops, sharing a cup of Joe/pc of pie: BUT remember that at least me have those MEMORIES - there are some that will never know what that is like - to be in love over the holidays - some will be abused - esp. children - be thankful for what we have - the cup IS half full and behind each closed door another WILL open - today is that first day of the rest of our lives and as much as I enjoy all the music/festivities that are going on around Christmas - it is ONLY another day - December 25 - a lot of "normal/married w children" people (LOL) get a lil depressed also because people put soooooo much effort and $$$ into the 25th and then the bills come. My 25yr old daughter is in Iraq and I think of her and all her buddies there - we ARE better off than they are - their lives are REALLY on HOLD. So CHINS UP guys - this is the nurse speaking, LOL - we'll hang in there together. The Serenity prayer helps also.
I am trying to gather a group of at least 10 people married or single together so we can all go to a holiday buffet & dance at a local casino - the cherokee - here near Ashevill, NC - being a nurse/meeting people/pts & family all the time, I am pretty easygoing - if anyone wants to jump in/sit at our table - let me know. I am just starting to try to gather a group - cost is $30/pp - nice buffet/live band. Merry Christmas to all - and to all - a very wonderful, possibly snuggly night!!!

Having been single by choice the past 13 years and living alone until my daughters were well into their college years, I'm real proud to read all of the ladies responses. For the most part you seem to have learned that it is better to live alone with dignity than suffer through life with a bad mate or someone that mistreats you.

Well, I can say that lonliness is everything that it is cracked up to be. I miss the friendship companionship and someone to sleep with. My normal sleep pattern is spooned with a woman with my arm around her and a breast cupped in my hand.
The Bible says it best when God said that Man was not meant to be alone.
