We got alot of stuff for Christmas ( dad's way of " making it up to us kids for being drunk the rest of the year) but I think the most fun thing I got was my roller skates. Not the ones with the key that I'd keep losing but real shoe skates! I went EVERYWHERE with those skates.
Any of you remember the Thumbolina and Chatty Kathy doll? lol The first talking doll.. Wished I still had mine

As a little kid my first electric train set. I was six at the time and still remember it. As a big kid (18) a guitar my father bought me that came as a total surprise. Soon after I joined the Navy and it was too nice a guitar to haul around or keep in a barracks. I gave it to my sister and she still has it.

Blu, been having a few technical problems. I posted this a little earlier but for some reason it did not take. Anyway, I think it is awesome about your son and his train set. My first one was an el cheapo (Marx) and did not last. At 11 I got a Lionel for Chritsmas and still have it. I just might put it under the tree this year. My brother-in-law, now 76, still has his Lionel from 1936 and he breaks it out every Christmas. My nephew will get it when my brother-in-law dies. It still works, needed only one repair in all these yaers, and Lionel attempted to purchase it from my brother-in-law. No sale. Some things are truly priceless.

A Howdy Doodey marionette! That was huge when I was a kid and only a few lucky kids I knew had one. (I was not one of them). That must be worth a fortune by now and my guess it is not for sale.

Barbie clothes always excited me I loved my Barbie and still have her and Midge today along with the homemade furniture made from cardboard boxes that were little jewerly boxes turned into chairs and couches for Barbie. I also have my Lionel train set as far as I know and Thumbalina and Chatty Cathy doll both worn from me dragging them everywhere I ever went but still have them! Also have the scar on my chin from my train set-day one sliced my chin open on the little satelite that shoots off the flat bed and goes twirling into the air- I had my head right over it when I hit the button to send it shooting up and it sliced me open-should have had stiches but not back in those days got the cold washcloth treatment and my mom yelling at my dad for buying a girl a train set. I had a blast with that train. Good memories!

Anything from my Aunt Betty because she also gave me something seperate for my birthday, never the extra special thing beause it was for BOTH. Yea a Christmas eve brat I am. I joke about how poor we were, I'd get the left shoe for my birthday, the right shoe for Christmas.Same with socks and Gloves. One year we were so poor my Mom gave me a pair of pants. One Leg at a time. It was cool. She sewed em back together. Zipper never worked right
