Like any addiction, you got to own it, know it and stop.
Dont know about any easy way.
But, I quit smoking,
quit drinking
and quit the drugs.
Although I live a relatively boring and lonely life now,
I own it and its great to be sober.
Life is what you make it.

That Chantix retails for about $120. At $4 a pack, it pays for itself in 32.5 days, not to mention the intangigles like future doctor visits, antibiotics for bronchitis, lung x-rays, etc. I'm saying this to myself as much as I am to you folks.

Think of all the reasons you hate the habit.
Focus on those reasons when you feel the desire.
Take one hour at a time.
Use negative visualization such as picturing a smoker tying off his arm getting ready to inject herion into a vein-this is what your addiciton compares to.
Also use negative visualization looking at others with cigarettes hanging out of their mouths, and how unnatractive and stupid it looks.
Try to spend as much time as you can around non-smokers, because your smoking buddies will continually offer you their cigarettes.
Don't think in terms of never again, like I said, take it one hour, even one minute, at a time.
Make lighting up as inconvenient for yourself as possible. Don't leave a pack laying around, don't stop and buy any when you run out, start right then to become the new you who is a non-smoker.
The running suggestion is good if you are otherwise fit. Walking may be all you can do, but you need to be exercising your lungs, but gradually.
Feel free to ask someone to give you moral support, when you feel yourself caving in, or not being able to handle stress without lighting up.
Get some tic-tacs or something low calorie to suck on, to help alleviate the oral desire.
Seriously, I do not mean this in a sexual way. Otherwise you may find yourself being unable to get away from the refrigerator.

NO! There isn't an easy way to quit smoking. I've been since I was 13 or 14. I did quit twice, and both times I lasted fairly long without a cigarette. But once, I was in a bar with a bunch of friends of were smoking and just had to mooch one from someone. The other time, the cravings simply got to me. My doctor also told me about Chantex and said it has been proven effective.

Hi angie and some of the rest of you. Have you ever thought about what makes you smoke? I like the picture thing but I know not even that will work in alot of cases. Any one I know that quit usually had a good motive, pregnant, health issues or someone close has challenges related to smoking. I Have recently been introduced to an ultimate nutritional abundance and cleansing program. I would highly recommend you try it, I can lead you in the right direction. The body becomes dependent on our addictions so lets get rid of the dependency. I am presently consulting another individual with the same challenges he does not seem nearly as ready as you are! let me know Angie. I assure you you will be happy with this program in more than one way and no it is not hard and you do not starve to dealth! This program has a long history of correcting alot of health challenges including addictions!

LOL...Mind control...
Seriously.
Its been medically proven that smoking butts is more addictive than heroin.
So...unless you have been a smoker and kicked the habit...try not to judge.
I went three years the last time. Cold turkey, only way to do it.
Psyching myself up for the LAST time...I intend to make this one a lifetime decision.
AND...as an added incentive, every day I dont smoke, I get to put the $$ I would have spent on cigs into a bank account for a vacation for me.
Aruba, Jamacia, OOOHH I wanna take ya, Bermuda, Bahama, Come on Pretty Mama...(or Papa as the case may be..)
Results pending......
LOL.

I smoked from the time I was 15 to 31...
Would that not constitute me as a smoker?
Anyway, as I stated earlier, It's all about mind control!
I wasn't judging anyone, I was simply telling my own solution!

thank you all ,I truly value all your opinions and suggestions
I started reading that book "The Easy Way To Stop Smoking" and I have cut down considerably. What the book does is changes your way of thinking ...anyways I really think that I am well on my way to being a non smoker.
Along with the book I am also exercising alot more and I am going to my doctor to ask him what he recomends as far as drugs are concerned like ziban....
