I don't understand...my cats talk to me all the time...why would you imply that that is a joking matter..?
My best friends are cats!...My world revolves around cats!...I take care of and have many friends that are called cats... they take up the emptiness of my wretched , lonely life, devoid of even casual human contact, even less so, female human contact. Female contact, The memory of those ebraces, the touching, the gentle reminders that my underpants were on backwards...
I don't joke about my cats!!!!

some do make noises that sound like talking....and, of course, they have their own language which is made up of a variety of sounds...i have one female who is groutchy and makes a growling and harsh meow at the other cats when she is upset.,,but, i can come along and say something to her and her meow becomes soft and quieter...

What's wrong with talking to the cats? I do it with all of mine. I swear some of them know how to talk back! At least they are always glad when I come home from work, almost always sweet and loving, and great company. They only b*tch when they don't have their favorite treats available. Cats rule!
