I find that long distance relationships are difficult. In order to get through them - there must be great communication. I htink 6-months is tops before it becomes an illusion.

I have a good friend who met someone online. They got married, and are still in a long distance relationship. It has been about 4yrs sence their marriage and she says that they talk every day. She owns her own business in AZ and he own his in WASH....they are working on being together. She says the distance doesent bother her. So I guess it would depend on the people involved.

I think time is not relavent when it becomes to relationships because when too people are together for 60 years they were meant for each other so the concept of time by which we use everyday doesn't exist in there hearts and trust.

20 months for me. It ended when he passed away. It's the communication not the distance that matters. You will find a way over the distance, but if there is no connection it will fizzle.

the only thing i could think of is to stay in it until you can be together or something happens to end the relationship.if you could see each other in person once in a while that would help greatly.communication is key!

Aramaic,
You need space!? Interestingconcept in a long distance relationship. I would think that having a long distance relationship is space enough.
But, you all have GREAT points...and COMMUNICATION is truly the key.

let me see if i understand the question, forgive me if i dont...
i wouldnt mind a long distance relationship couse u think about it u go over seas and and leave behind a family, that is consider then a long distance relationship, and comunication is short..... but if there is true love then its worth waiting for, or staying with each other, so distance to me does not matter i will travel that distance to be with her and shorten that that distance to be with her.

I was in a long distance relationship for three years and it worked for the both of us. It was expensive with flights long distance calls and etc. But it was worth it.

Soldier4life -
I agree with you.
But remember - the divorce rate for Deployed Miltary personnel is
> 50% (and this is long distance, with strain on communication...amongst other challenges)....I know...I'm one of those statistics (for other reasons than the deployment..or even the return..but it did not help).
I love you for what you are doing to Support our Freedoms! Hooah!
