 Sorry Tru, that is not what I am currently experiencing with a few women I've met. They waited 9, 10 and 12 years for the healing process. In the meantime they also lost some, maybe a lot of their desire and innate romantic sensuality. The spark to engage is barely seen or out completely. I think an independence sets in - possibly from convincing themselves over the years that they didn't need that 'loving feeling' to survive. They want to be friends, but just friends.

On the other hand, two other ladies "waiting" for only 3 and 4 years still exhibit and respond to 'flirting' body language. I can perceive their presence. Their will isn't eroded even though their hearts may not be completely mended.

I'm not trying to dissuade anyone to change what they feel is right for themselves, IF that is their own honest decision - not influenced by an unproven axiom. Bite my tongue, but I hate to see people's lives wasted waiting for other's to say they've waited long enough.

I agree with Sunshine and Book... we have to experience the pain of our loss, we can't go around it, under it or over it, we have to go through it. In that journey we need to look at ourselves and the ways we contributed.

The time it takes is up to us... 007 is so right about wasting time at our stage of life.

The walls come tumbling down as we learn to trust again... we can't have love without trust. First we need to trust ourselves - love ourselves, to open our heart to another.

 If you think you have a broken heart, go visit and volunteer at a children's hospital, where these most beautiful, innocent young children are suffering and dying from cancer. That will get you a real and proper perspective on what a broken human heart really is... My memory from experiences there immediately silences my ideas of my own 'broken Heart', which is less than nothing compared to their suffering, pain and disappointment.......

 isn't much of what you are "repairing" from sorta dictated what and how to go about it....example...went thru divorce after 30+ yrs of marriage...remarried, lost husband to death....and both experiences seem different....even tho they are both a loss.

 I believe the best way to begin is to Absolutley no matter what the
circumstances were for the break-up...Is to want and wish the other
person the best for their future....It is so freeing when you let go!
Even if the relationship was the one from hell. I would wish that someone
else might bring out the best in the other person.

 you hit on the head....it does start with accepting your part in the situation ie breakup....and wishing the other person well, as wll as forgiving them for the hurt it caused you.....in passing, I think it helps to really understand the person has really gone home and is in a better place....and realizing the pain is your own selfishness....
