I am still mending, I can't get him out of my head. We were only together 4 months, but I got so attached we had so many wonderful days, skiing, smiling, laughing. We had one argument. People say things happen for a reason, but I see no reason. I compare everyone to him and have dated several men since and rejected them.

All of you have been great and have very good advise.
I have had to deal with this both with my own heart and others whom I have dated.
It has to do alot with trust, as alot of you agree. I feel that trusting someone with your heart has to be earned over time just like respect. I know it has taken me 2-1/2 years to even start to open up and even start to show any love even for friendship. But had it not been for friends that stood by me and help me I would still be on the pitty trip.
It will take a long time still for the healing you see I lost a child and then 3 years later the ex walks out. I am still standing getting stronger everyday. I will fall in love again and I know it will not take forever.
You are all AWSOME!!!!

I love your answer. It is so true. Perhaps I will look into line dancing . I really need to get out and meet new people. Too much TV is making me paranoid.

Don't look for love, it will find you. And do not try to control what cannot be controlled. If you think negative, negative will be attracted to you. If you think positive, positive will be attracted to you.
Be well!

Robert,
I think you should have been a counselor. You hit the nail on the head. Wish more men had your insight.

Face it....love hurts. If you never want to be hurt then never love. A loveless life sucks. So, sounds like a hard place and a rock to me. Just gotta choose what you want in life and follow it no matter the pain. Nothing great was ever achieved without pain. Another clicheish statement is that all that is called life. Do you want to really live or just cruise through life with nothing to show at the end but years of hard work with no meaning? Not me.......my favorite saying: LIFE WITHOUT RISK IS LIKE A BIRD WITHOUT WINGS.

Oh......must be a senior moment. You don't remove the walls. You can't do that. Someone else has to do that for you. Just haven't met the right stone mason yet.
