It took a lot of praying, keeping myself busy and two years just to begin to mend. However, every day the Lord made it easier, I just wasn't really aware of that until one day, while driving to work (34 miles one way) and begging the Lord to help me get thru this I realized that it had been 1 month since my life as I knew it before was destroyed. Then it was 6 months, then a year. I would never have made it without the Lord carrying me. Now 4 years since I got the letter confirming my ex's infidelity (boy did that open a can of worms), my walls are beginning to slowly crumble. When I am completely ready will the Lord let me love again. Right now, I am still vulnerable and leary, I guess you might call it. I hope this has helped you. Your friend, Jeanne

Well said, Book. Faith in God is a great healer for the situations we get into in life. Staying busy is also important. Just do not judge everyone you meet by the person that broke your heart. Everyone is not like that. We also need to look within ourselves to see if there is something in us that could have made things better and kept things together in order to prevent it happening again. It is hard for us to accept our own faults and easy to blame someone else. Above all do not let the break simmer and imbitter you on life and people.

Good advise from all the ladies. As Sunshine stated, don't think the women you meet to be like the one that hurt you.And may I add,try to remember the woman you meet most likely had her heart broken too.Good luck to you.

It takes time believe me been there. Take the time for yourself, remember it not always one sided you have to owe to your part in it. Forgiveness is a most yah it's the hardest but once you forgive that person for the hurt he or she caused the healing begins then. Hang in there just remember who you are. Thanks

You do it one stone at a time. Breaking of a heart can happen in an instant.. but the mending takes time as with all wounds. The heart tends to heal before the mindset does. Often our hearts will let us know when it's time to remove those walls.. but the memory may still be bitter and refuse to budge. TIME will bring the heart and mind together into the proper stage. It's not something to be forced. The best way, I believe to remove them is to take the time to grief, get pissed and what ever other emotion that is there. It is these emotions that is holding the wall together. Face and than break down those emotions and the walls will fall

How does that phrase go.... It's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.......something like that.
Love is what broke the heart and love is what can and will heal as well. Once your heart and mind are concentrating on improving/solidifying a new love, the old love/heart break deminishes and is soon gone.
Time isn't the 'one size fits all remedy'. It's not the cure all elixir. It's nothing more than a cliche. One borne from wide spread misconception by those without the guts to face life's realities. Time will waste your life, preventing being in love and being loved by another and allowing the healing process to proceed.
Here - who wants the soapbox?
