i truly believe to mend a broken heart is to fall in love again, but dont rush, dont force it. Let it go and let it flow. I for one have never been married, i hope it will happen but i am not looking for it...Relax my man, the pain eases with time, you wont forget but you will move on to bigger and better things...peace my friend

Time heals all wounds. Live through your feelings, whatever they are (sadness, anger, joy, confusion). Accept the lessons you learned from it and move onto the next opportunity. Do something to stay busy and one day you'll awaken to a life with a mended heart and ready to live life again.

OK, awesome advice all. Thanks for the band aid idea, but there is a better one: The Mercs in Angola use tampons to plug bullet holes. Think I'll be on the rag a while.

Get a nice warm electric blanket, curl up on the couch. Traw the shads. Watch some man TV, not Opra or Trya. But man TV like like the Die Hard series. Suck up a few beers. Cry and feel like crap. Just don't get stuck there! 
After a couple of days, start flirting you ass off with these pretty women here and you'll start to feel better real fast, real fast!

however, flirting doesnt take away the pain.
it might make u smile, and laugh - but its short lived. There is no touching, no kissing, and no moving on to bigger and better things.
I have been chatting with 'friends' online for 2 1/2 years now.... friends are nice to have... they can get you through some tough times, however those on-line friends actually trying to help you mend a broken heart in reality suck at it.
What he needs is a real person. Someone he can sit next to, look in their eyes, someone he can touch that has blood running thru their veins and can feel the pulse.
I agree he should have a night of staying in and feeling sorry for himself if HE feels he wants to do that, but ONE NIGHT is enough.
Then get up and get out!
JMO!!! 
NOW IT'S TIME TO GET OUT OF THE HOUSE AND
