I think the answer is different for everyone...and it makes a difference with "where they are in life" too. For example, if you are just getting out of a longterm relationship or marriage, you probably won't be mentally ready for another relationship for while...two-three years even (from a book called Crazy Time). During that timeframe, you may need to rebuild your self confidence. A sex-only relationship can actually help the healing process... but, be aware that a sex-only relationship nearly never works into a "real" one.
So each woman's answer will depend upon what she's been through and what she wants. Personally, I've used the buddy system for about four years now. My problem with the first one is that he didn't want to be monogamus...I didn't want to be infected with anything. Next! Did manage to find one who would be faithful...worked out great in the shortterm, but it's not desirable for the long haul.

singerchick... you are so right... i read all the other posts... of all of them you explained your thoughts on sex buddy vs. longterm relationship extremely well... let's face it... it matters where we are in our lives... have we healed from the old relationships ... have we gotten to know ourselves ... do we feel whole once again... so many different factors in our lives determine the path in which we will choose... timing is everything... i've been on both sides myself but i must say i find it most desireable to be in a longterm relationship... i ultimately choose to continue looking for that in my life... for this reason i believe in my heart that the majority of women prefer a longterm relationship...

With aids around, I only want to have sex with one more woman in my life. So she's gotta be "the one". I'm not interested in promiscuous women. In fact the harder she is to get mabye it will be the easier she will be to keep. I don't want another divorce, i want a life partner. Sex is only an option for the right woman. The right woman will be my best friend and companion long before the sex. Get this wrong once.. and your dead.

I'm not really sure what all women want, but what i do know is there is no respect in a sex first relationship. Lets face it, isn't that just treating a woman like a wh*re? I just can't be in relationships like that myself. If thats all you really want in a woman than save yourself some money and take a vacation to nevada, plenty of cat houses there. I'm sure the more you spend the more they will love you!! Good luck!
