The rich get richer---We have all heard that a thousand times. It was never true, (in America), until very recently.
We are importing millions of low skilled, uneducated workers who are only qualified to do menial labor. The competition for jobs in fields like Certified Nursing Assistants, maids, Fast Food restaurant workers, and other low skill jobs is unbelievable. Illegals get no benefits from their employers. They get no vacation, no sick leave or any other benefits that other workers get.
Remember when the garbage workers in New York City used to get paid more than the school teachers? That was because there were more folks lined up to be school teachers than there were folks lined up to pick up the trash. At that time, we needed more unskilled workers.
Now, we are in danger of having this country turn into a third world nation. The rich will get richer because they can cut the pay of their workers. The workers will become very poor because there are just too many folks trying to get the same jobs.
The gap between rich and poor will begin to widen at a very fast pace. (If we do not make some changes.)
What we should do is import only the most highly skilled workers. Particularly ones in fields where wages are very high. This would force the highly skilled to work for a little less. In so doing, it would lessen the gap between rich and poor. What we are doing, will only make that gap grow.
If we inported highly skilled workers, no one who is willing to work hard would be poor. The rich would still be rich, but they would have to pay their domestic help a living wage. This in turn would lessen the burden on our government. (less food stamps and the like)
I know this sounds back wards, but we really need to keep a middle class. We need to keep the American dream alive. The American dream is one that promises every American the opportunity to make a better life for his family. That dream is not alive in most of South America.
Soon, if the politicians have their way, the American Dream will be but a memory! If the supply of cheap workers is not soon stopped, the middle class will shrink, and we will be a country much like Mexico. A country where the workers are near starvation.
This is neither a Republican, nor a Democratic issue. It is between the super rich, who do not want to pay their workers a fair wage, and those who still dream the American Dream.
The politicians are for sale, and the rich have the money to pay them. The politicians want power, and the rich want more money. The rest of us only want the American Dream to live and prosper.

If you want an eye opener there is a book out written by South Dakota Senator, Byron L Dorgan called , "You can take this Job and Ship it" (Thomas Dunne Books/St Martains Press New York, copywrite 2006) the subtitle caught my eye " How Corporate Greed and Brain-Dead Politics are Selling America Out" It's aabout more then just Ilegal Immigrations. It will really make your blood boil. It did mine.

I represent the agricultural industry, not the big and corporate, but the little guy, mom and pop. That is what the "American Dream" is based on. I wish there were a labor force out there; I can tell you there are no youth of today that will do manual labor. They all want to work indoors at soft jobs. I have to pay twice what McDonalds pays to get the labor I do have. And they work hard. I know because I work right along side them.

I feel the Americans have become too smug in what they will work at and the illegal aliens are cashing in on this smugness. Most find it beneath them to take jobs that have long hours with little pay and no health insurance when they can get welfare or other means without all the hard work involved. It seems if you don't have a career or high paying job, most feel they are lacking in something....NOT. Small businesses have a hard time with paying the employees and making the premiums on the high cost of medical insurance that they are willing to hire these people. Sometimes we, as people, make the rain and then stand back and say "It's raining!" and don't put the two together. These things don't affect large businesses/politicians/nor the government....and they make the rules that the middle or low income people are suffering with such as taxes and the cost of living.
I truly don't feel that 9/11 would have occurred if we hadn't been so sure that this could not have been possible here in the United States. I'm all for helping overseas but what is the old saying......Get your own house in order first....It burns me to no end seeing all the help that we give other countries with so many that are here who are orphaned/homeless/and yes even starving, especially our elderly and children, with no help given.
My take......no, it's not right but sadly needed in our culture.JMO

George Carlin's Solution to Save Gasoline
Bush wants us to cut the amount of gas we use..... The best way to stop using so much gas is to deport 11 million illegal immigrants!
That would be 11 million less people using our gas. The price of gas would come down.....
Bring our troops home from Iraq to guard the Border.....
When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship him to Iraq ...
Tell him if he wants to come to America then he must serve a tour in the military.....
Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it.....
After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country......
He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal patriot......
This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves......
If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway, without the canteen, rifle or ammo.....
Problem solved.....

They are trying their best to get pregnant women into the states illegally. Makes sense. They give birth here and their children are automatic citizens. The mother gets to stay because of the child and we support both...legal and illegal. Sometimes they get to bring family in to help. Hahaha What a perfect system. It lasts at least 18 years.
Americans will not do jobs beneath them and when they do over price themselves. Who is to fill this need.....illegal aliens. The same reason big companies now build companies overseas. Now Mexico.
The biggest thing that really gets my goat is that so many illegal aliens are paying taxes. Some receive welfare. How? Why? The government has all the means to find them and deport them. Why don't they? They are good tax paying citizens.  Not citizens. They should go. Doesn't matter where they came from or how much in taxes they pay. Illegal is illegal.
None of the presidents or president's men will have a solution. Face it...our borders are too wide to defend to the south or north. All we can do is to make it so uncomfortable for illegals in this country that they decide it's better to stay at home. This is something that the government is not ready to do. Till then, we will continue to have this problem. Unless......everyone quits complaining, gets off their butts, and starts writing their congressmen. Squeaky wheel gets the grease. And.......it will take a lot of writing. Won't stop anytime soon.

Thanks, butter. The truth is that we as employeres pay those benefits to the aliens. They have the paperwork. We don't get to question their documents. It is the underlying lie. They are never going to collect on the unemployment that we pay for them, both state and federal. They are never going to collect social security benefits. Those funds that we pay into the government that will never be collected by the ia...ever wonder what happens to that money?
And the biggest question, who is willing to replace these laborers? Who is going to do what they do? It isn't the money, because we pay more to the laborers than they can make at McDonalds. It's that it is physically hard labor. Until someone can tell me where these people are that will work hard physically, I can't say send them back.

Coming to this country as an illegal is alot different than coming here and becoming a US citizen. To come to this country, get on welfare, get driver's license and allowing their kids to enroll in our schools with no paperwork is a load of crap and ILLEGAL! We have em here and the authorities raid companies often to round them up to ship em back to where they belong. In Nashville, for the month of Jan 07, cops pulled over 1 out of every 3 cars with an illegal alien driving.. no driver's license, no insurance.. no nothing! I have seen them crash their cars, steal from others, rape and maime and get set free because the cops can't find out who they are. We need to take care of our OWN people!

I feel if the mother of these babies is illegal the baby should be too. And both should be sent back. I am tired of our welfare system paying them to have babies. While they don't have the money to help our own disabled and elderly. This country needs to help take care of our own instead of helping these people that are ILLEGAL!
