I make no bones about it. I've had my weight posted here since I signed up in Oct 2008. Plenty of attractive (hot!) men are attracted to me. Some are only attracted to large women, some are attracted to just me.
In my opinion there aren't many men who would only have an issue with a woman being fat that wouldn't be an a**hole to her in so many other ways.
Really, they're doing me a favor by putting it out there. I put it in my damn screenname to help 'em out, too.

I have been over to man's land too, and you would be surprised by a lot of there answers...yeah there are a lot of men that don't go for "Fat Chicks" but don't we all have certain critria that makes us happy or makes us turn up our noses (like now). A lot of the guys don't have a problem with weight there are more posts about issues with communication and honesty and pocketbook.... Before we are ever going be happy with someone else we have to be happy with ourselves first and foremost.
I say if men know what they want say it PLEASE say it, if you know what you don't want PLEASE put down as much information as your lil heart desires....all the better for me to smile and send a wink or smile say my own little private thanks for not having wasted anymore time than necessary.

Yes some men can be tactless or flat out rude when they state their taste in a woman. However I don't think a man is a jerk simply because he isn't attracted to BBWs. There are some men who aren't attracted to me because I'm tall, not blonde, not large enough etc. I don't get offended by that. Most people are attracted ( or not attracted ) to certain physical traits.

I agree with Common, if you aren't interested, tell us. In a perfect world, they'd be a bit more tactful and intelligent about it than "Fat Chicks", but whatever. I'm plain about what I want on my profile, and appreciate honesty in the men who know what they like/dislike and aren't afraid to say so.
I just came back from reading a few topics over there and it was quite useful.
I now know what they hate to see on our profiles, and while I did change a thing or two, I didn't do a whole renovation. You would go insane trying to please everyone. I must admit I had quite a few laughs over there...due to humorous comments, not laughing at the men in general.
I'm beginning to think that there are very few men out there who appreciate a larger woman, though, and it makes me feel as if I'd be wasting my time on this website.

We all know that the men take field trips into woman's world, so this is for all the men that are peeking.
I'm sure your ex was skinny when you married her, and through the years put on weight. Please don't revert back to your 20's when in fact you are 40 or 50 something. Face it, gravity happens, and I'm sure your balls can attest to that fact. So don't ask for the impossible. You need to get real. This is what gets us going more than anything. You have no clue how to be realistic. And this is the one real thing that will keep you single. So keep those blinders on, cause you just might miss the best thing that's every happened to you. Women gain weight for various reasons. Menopause, thyroid, other health conditions. So we bear your children, and this is the thanks we get? No, I am not a bitter b*tch who has been done wrong, I'm just tired of all you shallow uninformed men who just don't have a clue. Now we all know why you are single, and you will go to your grave that way. Men that don't have time to understand women are just plain lazy, and not worth the time or effort.

in retort, first of all, not all "womyn" are so sensitive to euphemisms that they take anything as a pejorative. My ex used to refer to me and his daughter as his "girls", And yes i know you are long past being called a chick, but addressing that is more of a distraction than anything having to do with this topic no? 
secondly, no men shouldn't call women names, just like women shouldn't and yet...I see a lot of undue hostility emanating from these "chicks".

I've only been on this date line for a few weeks, have already received much abuse from men who have preference for smaller women. Anytime I post a blog about anything, a guy replies with an attack about my weight after viewing my profile picture, without regard to the original topic. They go to much trouble putting me in my place, reinforcing their
belief that I'm unworthy to be on this site because of my weight. I submitted a whole body picture so as not to deceive anyone.  Really, I have much to offer, my shortcoming is not having an hourglass figure which is strongly dictated in our society.

But just keep in mind that this is a free site, and you are going to meet more idiots and morons who will be quick to judge you. Pay no mind to them, because there are nice people here. You just have to do alot of weeding out to find them. And I should also caution you on the Nigerian scammers. They make up fake profiles, try to get to know you, and then ask you for money. Keep an eye out on their grammer. That's a dead give away. Good luck in your search. I for one, have not found what I was looking for here, and I've placed my search on hold, but I stay because I have made alot of dear friends that I want to keep in contact with and play in the threads with.

Well I believe(If only in my own mind) that I am not fat! BUT you wont say there is nothing to hug!! I was 114 lbs. when I first married! My first husband was probably 175 lbs. He was a dairy farmer and we never got to do anything for entertainment but go out and eat! 2 kids and years later I always said that between the 2 of us there was a person that wasn't legally married because of our weight gains. But we were both the smallest ones in both of our families. I have stayed about the same for mega years and can be on my feet moving all day long, so I feel good about myself. I myself dont care the size of my next mate(IF Im so lucky) as long as he can move(not a couch potatoe) and is happy with himself! I have learned that Love is Blind big time!

I refer to myself as fat sometimes because I am fat. Fat. Adipose tissue. It's not a crime. It's not even an insult. It doesn't tell you anything about me with any reliability. Maybe I'm a lazy slob, maybe I'm not. Maybe I overeat, maybe I don't. I generally don't associate for very long with anyone incapable of grasping these things.
I've never had anyone make nasty comments about my fatness except in forum debates when they have clearly lost and hope to wound me by name-calling. It never works. Anyone harassing you can be blocked, so I'm surprised if anyone is getting it on a regular basis - that's hard for me to believe.
I date regularly and have met some fantastic men from here.
I rarely come in here because of the preponderance of bitter misandrists who have no intention of ever dating or even interacting with others on any other forums. They even know that men can read this forum and can't hide their venom, all the while pretending to want to meet a man. Pretty hilarious.

I'll tell you what really helped me was being on here and seeing how everybody gets rejected - often rudely and hurtfully. And everybody has had someone fool them, and everyone has made bad decisions. Thin people, gorgeous people, educated people - everyone. So if I'm thin or if I'm fat, this is the reality. Other people deal with it successfully, so can I, and so can you!

Some of us that put "A few extra pounds" means just that. Not 100lbs over, but just a few...
And for a 5-8 woman a few can look a whole lot less because I am taller, than it would on say a 5-3 woman.. 10-15 pounds may look like 50 on a shorter person, while on a tall one it may look like only 5....
And for the guys who looked at my profile and made a few comments...I have lost 30 over the past two months, and would like to loose a few more. So does that mean I am now average?

I put a "few extra pounds" because in my mind, I don't look "large". Sure shopping is not fun for me, but most things are tight and in place and I'm not sloppy. I'm short, and also have a small frame so the pounds don't look too bad. I would definitely like to lose weight before the children come and really add the weight, but for right now, I would prefer a guy who doesn't want a skinny minny.
Guys have their preferences, and I really don't care because I have mine, but they could be a little more sensitive. I try to be, and I consider myself a blunt person
