I tried, but couldn't sleep in a bed alone for about year 1.5.

Now I hug a pillow.

I have a nest of pillows. One in front of me, one behind me, one I wrap my arms around ....oh and one for my head. For the longest time I still slept on the one side of the bed. Now I sleep in the middle.

Oh and to answer, no I do not sleep as well.

Since my wife passed away 11 years ago, I have slept with a neck pillow, on a Yoga mat, on a hard floor. ZZZZZZZZZ.

I would do that sometimes.... in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep, I would toss the pillows on the floor and grab the top blanket and hit the floor to sleep. It seemed to work.

hey the pillow knows me as does my latex bed--seems like when i lay me down to sleep i sink in and when i awake my bed seems to have memorize my body and goes back to normal--if someone slept next to me now would it go on strike--I'm sure it would make adjustments, right???

I got one of those foam topper for my bed and then got me some fleese blankets to use instead of sheets ..... now I feel almost as if I'm hugged and I do sleep better since I did that. But still wake up missing a partner.

I prefer sleeping alone. I actually sleep better alone. Sleeping with pillows is comfortable, but doesn't compare with sleeping with a person! Pillows don't move around, or snore, or cough, or hog the bed, or want to keep you confined in their arms all night, or do any of the other things that makes me like sleeping alone.

Not always......... As one who suffers from recurrent & severe migraine headaches, I find myself often awakened in pain with the urge to throw-up from the nausea.

As to the bed:

Recently, a True Friend returned from Germany and needed a bed for her new apartment. I gladly gave her the "Marriage" bed. The recliner couch will suffice for now, until another comes into my life, if ever......

No, I don't sleep as well at all. Since my husband passed away I've been sleeping on the couch because I just cannot sleep in the bed that we shared. Part of the not sleeping as well is probably habit. I didn't sleep much the last 2 years he was alive because I was afraid he would need something in the night and I wouldn't hear him. I just can't seem to break that pattern.

I have adjusted to sleeping alone...so well...I am not sure if I could sleep well, with a man. I never use the entire bed..I do however switch what side I am sleeping on..have 4 pillows, that I continuelly switch around through out the night..because I like to feel the coolness against my cheek.
