I think about sex, but I couldn't do it 3 times a day at this stage of the game if I wanted too. I don't think there's anything wrong with having a good sex drive, but it isn't healthy to let it dominate one's life. Good grief, that sounds like something Dr. Phil would say....roflmao.

I also think about winning the lottery but that ain't happening either.Unfortuantly when the doctor removed my prostrate he never talked to me about nerves that get removed with it.To late once the operation is done.
As long as I am on the subject and its in the open,would a woman date a man who has to take drugs to achieve a erection(if Possible)? This has been holding me back from dating and I didn't want to lead someone on and hurt both of us.
Any replys would be helpful on this people.

This should not hold you back from dating Wrecerkman. I understand the mental aspect is just a tough as the physical. Have you tried different meds to acheive an erection, there are alot of them out there? Some women can be very understanding and i think it would be a matter of feeling comfotable with the person your with. I take alot of meds and i could acheive an erection but not orgasm, or my erection wouldn't last. Being with a person who understands the circumstances will work with you. Have you tried looking into fourms, groups or websites about prostrate problems? I think trying to deal with the mental part will help in the physical.....IMO

Honestly I'm not so sure that guys judge on sex as much as women do, even though most would say that's crazy. I see more posts on here where women are tlakign down guys for this and that and when is the last time you've ever seen a guy post and say he dumped a woman because of how she did at some sexual activity? Maybe some dump if she won't have sex, but I never see anyone posting saying a woman was bad at something and that he dumped her due to it. Women post that they flat out dump guys solely on sex and before there's even been a chance to possibly get through whatever issues. I'm sure plenty women are different though. This site does bring out the judgmental ones.

Maybe it is me but sex seems to be part of life and love among couples.With the prostrate gone so are the nerves and I been silent about it except for my local friends and family.I would really love to meet someone to be with but I am so lost because of this issue.I tried a few of the drugs they offer to see if it would lead anywhere but not much use from what i coud see.From my end its very embarrassing and this is my first time dealing with it on DH.I guess since I have met a lot of understanding people here that I could bring it out in the open.
When I see someone taking advantage of their girl or wife I really wish they knew how lucky they are to have someone.

People are different...some people need sex on a regular basis, and don't feel healthy without it, and some people just don't find it that important for one reason or another.
I tend to like a lot of sex, so I look for a guy who feels the same...but I know women who don't care about sex, and they would love to find a guy who didn't make it the focus of their day.
Its like anything else: you need to find someone compatible with you and you in particular, and forget what other people think.

That took a lot of guts to admit that on an open forum, Wreckerman, and I admire you for it. There are probably more people than you can imagine who are in the same boat but are just not saying, because of the embarrassment. There are more things to a relationship than just sex and if the ladies really want what they say they want (ie: respect, consideration, kindness, affection, fidelity, etc) then you have more than enough to offer a lady. I wish you all the luck in the world that a compassionate woman will see inside your heart and know that you are the one for her. Keep an open mind and one day you will be the happiest man on the earth.

I apprieciate all the feedback on this subject.Sex is such a over used and abused thing these days.I often wonder how many put love into it.With me I have to be open and up front right away when I meet someone.I don't want to lead anyone on plus get hurt in the process.Believe me it would be so nice to have someone to share this life with.If I didn't have my kids to raise right now I would be totally lost considering all the medical problems I have had in the past few months.

Hey Red I just wish my causes for not having it were natural and that I had recieved a consulation before surgery.Prostrate was removed to insure no further cancer would come my way in that area.But now with prostrate and bladder gone its back and in the area the old bladder was.
I'm not saying I would of refused having prostrate removed but I would of like to had a doctor discuss this with me first.My bladder was comming out no matter what at the time.

I wouldn't mind that. In fact, I've briefly dated a man who had an implant, and he had to work it by pumping. The reason this one didn't last, was because he lied about his status. He told me that he was legally separated, well turned out that he and his ex just split but not legally, and that they were going to reconcile. Of course he still wanted to see me, you know what for. Sex what else. I just told him to get out.
About your situation, I am not sure that the meds (Viagra, etc) are going to really help you achieve erection. Besides, you might want to check the side effects. I think what they do is help to prolong erection, but it has to be there already to begin with. This is what they told us at a nursing school, I've been about halfway through it before going on disability. You might want to think about getting an implant, and like with everything, do a good research online. Good luck

Ohio I really wish all females thought like you.The drugs aren't much help for me and the pump sort of kills the moment.I can't picture being in the heat of the moment then asking her to wait while I inflate.Sounds like the makings of a good rap or country song don't it.I miss having a relationship with comunication then I do the sex part.I got nothing against sex and enjoyed it while I could do it.I really think it got over rated and has lead our teenagers to believe its the best part of life with a person.They have enough on their plate to handle without the pressure of sex.

No that doesn't happen either gem4gent.That is lost when prostrate is removed.The nerves near the prostrate control erection.They are normally removed during this surgery unless you have a doctor that can bill medicade or medicare for the extra hours.
The best thing about being on medicare or medicaid is the nurses.They get their pay no matter what so all the nurses I had were really great.They made sure I was not in any pain.

I agree with sing on this. Yes, sex can be nice. But what would be even better is to have someone just love you for you. Just put their arms around you and hold you in the night. So that you know that they are there. Someone who doesn't hit you. Been there, done that!
To me, that means way more then sex.
I am not belittling sex, just saying a truly loving and caring person doesn't worry about that. It's the person inside that counts.

Wreckerman, I have been in relationships were sex was good and bad. The most meaningful and loving relationship for me was with a man who had his prostate removed and I felt like the love was deeper because it wasn't based on sex alone. He left me because he thought I would leave him for sex, boy was he wrong and he now admits it. Oral giving and receiving are so much more fun.
