To this day, I have no idea why we did this, other then it was our way of nurturing and I am curious if any of you did this..or similar to it. This around 4th or 5th grade..in the spring..all of us girls, would collect just the freshly opened buds of a p*ssy whillow...we gave them names, some were in pretty, little boxes, some just in a plain white earing box..with soft fluffy cotton on the bottom..kept the box in our desks at school...and through out the day..compare our little families. My god, as I write this, I can't believe we did it...but it was not just a few of us girls..it was in each and every lower grade school class.

Betsy McCall paperdolls in Nana's McCall's magazine every month.....and my all time favorite - root beer fizzies....must be why I still love root beer to this day....and share the green (lemon-lime) koolaid with my grandkids....we also watch 3 Stooges videos, now that is comedy

Oh yeah, I remember the skinned knees and the first new bike. A 16in. Firestone girls bike. Had that bike for ten years. Had many accidents on it but it was built to last!
