Question: Are many white guys it the Bay Area interested in dating black women? And, if you are interested in dating, is it just dating that you're interested in or would you consider marriage in the future?

Let's review. . .
1. White guys in the Bay area interested in dating black women. Well, are there any white guys, or black guys, brown guys, Native American guys, Asian guys, etc. etc. etc. who are interested in Women? Slim pickin's in that region I'm afraid.
2. I guess if one is interested in dating, one is simply interested in dating. In the immortal words of Tina Turner, "What's marriage got to do with it?"
3. Marriage in the future. Gee, can we get past the first date or two or three before we consider marriage, hmm?
I have dated one black woman in my life - she was and still is sensational. In the end, I decided to not pursue the relationship because she lived too far away and I began to see the struggles inter-racial relationships always seem to have, both inside and outside the marriage. At my age, I just don't feel I could fight the issues that would inevitably come up. It would just be too distracting to have to deal with it all the time, so before I fell in love, I gently let it all go.

I think that "the struggles inter-racial relationships always seem to have" is a blanket statement. I've been in two long term relationships with white men and I don't recall having any race related issues, because we had the same basic values. Except for in my first relationship, and that was his parents. His mother specifically and that was because she was closed minded. My second relationship, no race related issues at all - the whole family lovd we have a good relationship even though we're not together any more. So, I think it depends on your mindset and how you look at things. As far as marriage, I'm not looking to have a few dates and I love you, that would freak me out, wouldn't it you? I'm afraid I have to agree with you on the slim pickin's though and I'm not talking about the musician. Thanks for your thoughts and have a good night.

I used to live in the Bay area and was married to a black women and had no issues. I've discussed this issue with other black women and the family problems were mostly on the part of the whites as the black families found it more acceptable or at least were not ignorant. Also, alot of white men have this thing for black women but won't commit to a real relationship, you know the curious thing.
