I find that I get a lot of e-mails from men who've obviously never read two words on my profile page... I don't write it for my health, I write it so I don't get bothered by people who would just be wasting their time and mine. I guess they just see the picture and don't care. Like I'm really going to fall in love with someone who has no picture posted and doesn't even meet my basic requirements by you saying 4 words to me in an e-mail with bad grammar, especially when I already have somebody I'm seeing... yeah, when the stars burn out of the sky and the planets fall out of orbit and bounce around like those rubber super balls.
And then there are the folks who send the e-mails and winks that just get deleted and can't take a hint... I replied back "Not interested", and they try to pull up a chat request with me. Here's it spelled out for you: HINT: If I don't respond to the first hundred e-mails you send me, I'm not going to reply to the next hundred!

I feel you. I get a lot of emails from guys who are, in my mind, too old for me, and from people who are smokers, both of which I specify in my profile. As much as I appreciate the attention, I feel bad not responding to them, but those are two things that I'm pretty serious about and I'm not sure how to nicely say "You're too old!"

I get the die-hard Bible thumpers, the junkies, and the people who don't come anything close to my specified phenotype.
Mostly law classes, got a few interesting ones, but there's always that one kid in the lecture hall you want to strangle with a coat hanger, the one who constantly corrects the teacher and has something to say about EVERYTHING. Having an opinion and talking in discussion is great, but their difference is their opinion is not valid or relevant

ya, a hundred emails is a bit much.i stop at 75...80 tops
some dont read them for so many reasons.anything from they wouldnt understand it even if they did read it to ...they will be the exception. i agree ...thats what they're there for. and sorry to say but if you're seeing someone they just see it as more of a challenge.
but,i'll add this: many time profiles are written unclearly or vague.there are times when soooo many of them sound alike that i think they are just copied.there are times when something is in a profile but isn't what is actually meant.my first experience on a dating site a woman contacted me and by her profile we weren't a match.i clearly wasn't what she was looking for and when i mentioned it,i got the ??? virtual deer in the headlights look  i would have never contacted her but in fact we were a great match. so i'm sure people run into this stuff.hey.....she didnt sound like a match but was so maybe others are as well.just like the ones who send dirty pics or dirty emails....they have some sort of success so they are just playing the numbers.if they didnt then they wouldnt.

To dog or berate a shadow is pure idiocy. There could be MANY reasons they dont show their picture. Yes, I am sure some are because they shouldnt be here in the first place and dont want to get busted by their spouse/partner. BUT!!!......I have met a few on here who are DAMN good looking, have a LOT to offer, but DO NOT want to be judged on their looks alone. They are looking for someone to like them for WHO they are, not what they look like. You just keep ignoring the shadow people, it will make their job of weeding out the shallow people much easier.

My best friend in the world started out as a shadow person, she is no longer on here due too she found someone....
When I first saw her pic my mouth hung open, she is a very beautiful gal,
In my opinion if you have too judge someone just cause they ARE a shadow and DON'T know why they are a shadow too begin with, then you ain't nothing but a shallow person that will live a misserable life,

I've gotten winks and e-mails from shadow people and I always wink back, usually with an e-mail saying hi or something. I don't know what the big deal is. There could be any number of reasons why they don't have a picture.
And silverrain, did it ever occur to you that shadow people may e-mail or wink at you not because they want to fall in love with you or you with them, but because they're just trying to say hi and meet some new people?? And I thought you had a wonderful boyfriend, so why do you care anyway?

I couldn't agree with you more. I get a lot of e-mails from guys who have obviously done nothing but looked at my picture and figured, "Good 'nuff!" I guess their tactic is to just casting lines into the water until blind luck comes around and blesses them.
Oh and that is the first time I've seen the word "Phenotype" used off of my German Shepherd lists. Like when we are discussing Phenotype vs. Genotype. LOL
