What stupid remarks from Obama. He is making America the laughing stock of the world.
Remember what the Russian Premier , Kruschev , said in the 60's. " America will destroy herself from within ".

A big problem in our nation is that we have became complaceant. What happened to the Americans, like our founding fathers and our men who founght to keep us free. We are in our comfort zone and think nothing can touch us. Sorry....We are being taken over and not a shot is being fired. We are being destroyed from within. If they want to build a moask or how ever you spell it. Build it in a less offensivive place. I am sure there are thousands of good people of their faith. And a handfull that have given them a bad name. They should remove those who offend them and let the rest of the world be in peace. Just one way of thinking. gj

Over the many years that I have been reading I have read numerous articles about different religions sharing a house of worship. Catholic and Protestant. Prostestant and Protestant. The same building used as a cathedral and a synagogue. Synagouge and church. Never have I read where a mosgue has been allowed to be used as a place of worship other than muslim. Religious tolerance, to be effective, has to work both ways. The proposed building in New York has been advertised as a place where muslims may worship, none others. This seems to me that religious tolerance is a one way street.

There are rights. Then there is good sense. If a neo Nazi grope wanted to build a meeting hall overlooking one of the death camps sites it would be ofensive. If the U.S.Army wanted to build a military installation right beside the mass grave a Wounded Knee it would be in poor taste. I always like to say that there is "theory" and there is "practice". The theory might be that The Muslims have a right to build a meeting place/House of Worship anywhere they wish, but, In Practice I believe that a Muslin should not build it that close to Ground Zero. It's in poor taste and the Muslims should have the sensitivity to know this and honor it. I find it offensive however that all Muslims are being blamed for the actions of a radical few, but, that too is human nature. I personally do not believe that Barack Obama is a Muslin. That said I do recognize that his father is and his remark as well as others shows that he definitely is a sympathizer.

I concur with the opinions of Michael Grimm and Randy Altschuler in an article I read in the RightwingNews.com
(an excerpt)
"The Cordoba Mosque adjacent to Ground Zero is not built just to be a house of worship. It's being built to offer aid and comfort to our enemies. It is built as a means of demonstrating conquest. It is naive to believe otherwise."

The only way to turn this around is to boycot the city. The travel industry is the bread and butter for the most part. I, for one, am willing to not travel there and to not order or buy anything from there. The politicions can understand that. It is a voice, if loud enough, will be heard. Think about it,. gj

I truly agree that to build a Mosque on the site of 911 would be wrong. The govenor of NY says we should not blame these people for 911. We should blame Alkida. I know if I had someone who died in those buildings, I would be very insulted to have a mosque built there. To me it seem like the muslims are trying to make light of 911. The governor says we should not punish these people, for wanting to build a house of worship. If this is allowed, then what else will we allow? I do know people have freedom of religion, and I understand this, but to allow the mosque would be like spitting on the graves of so many poor souls who died that day.

I do agree. It would be worse than spitting on their graves. It would be like giving the U.S.A. a middle finger and smiling all the time they are doing it.

This thing about the mosque being build within eye shot of where the towers were is a disgrace to the people that died there.
The bible says to "turn the other cheek". I only have two cheeks.
There are things happening in the wonderful United States that I do not agree with. I gripe about them and then I make sure I vote when the voting polls are open. I do my part to try and change things where and when it is possible.
If I were a New York resident I would do my best to try and oust those people that said okay to the construction. VOTE

Insulting. Americans had better come to their senses and realize that muslums are trying to take over this country. That's what's happening in Europe. Do some reading and you will find that islam isn't a religion of peace.

Well from the news reports they are going to build no matter what people think. So....Now you can either accept it or boycott the city and all business in the area. Write the Mayor, I did. Remember if you do nothing you have no right to complain. gj

Everything I need to know about islam, I learned on 9/11.
I hope that they have nothing but problems in their efforts to build it, and it gets blown apart and burned to the ground.

Even France is having problems with them. They block for streets and bus people in and have service. They have private guards which is against the law in France. But they still do it. People can not enther or leave their homes as long as their servce is going on. No traffic for blocks. France is now beginning to havwe uprising with this matter. England to. America is next. Use ;your prayers and you influnce to help in this matter. gj

Religious tolerance is still not part of the muslim religion. Church and state are the same in muslim controled countries.
The laws of this country support seperation of church and state. This is something that is not part of the muslim religion.
Beware!

The pastor in Florida says he will burn a koran, and the world is up in arms over it. Some muslum burns an American flag, and nothing is said or done! What is that telling you?

I think it should be the goal of every American to be tolerant. The mosque should be allowed, in an effort to promote tolerance.
That is why I also propose, that two nightclubs be opened next door to the mosque thereby promoting tolerance within the mosque. We could call one of the clubs (which would be gay) "The Turban Cowboy"and the other being a topless bar "You Mecca Me Hot".
Next door should be a butcher shop that specializes in pork and adjacent to that have an open barbeque pork rib restaurant, called something like "Iraq of Ribs"?
Across the street there could be a very daring lingerie store called Victoria Keeps Nothing Secret with sexy mannequins in the window modeling the goods.
Next door to the lingerie shop, there would be room for an Adult Toy Shop (Koranal Knowledge), its name in flashing neon lights, and on the other side a liquor store, maybe call it "More hammered"?
Then the Muslims could be allowed to show their tolerance. Problem solved.
