We have had the strangest winters here the last couple of years. Didn't even wear a heavy coat last year and just a couple of times so far this season. Can't pack up the summer clothes...might need them in two days. There's been a few days I had to use the AC. I just don't know and can't fathom how some of you live in the cold and all that snow.
We get snow and it's a couple of inches and it's gone in a couple of days.
But yall can haul it on down here to Georgia and we can find plenty to get into. I just stay piled up like a recluse. I usually trek out anytime to anyplace by myself. But kinda got a wake up call when they caught a serial killer in this area. Especially, when I found out he had been at a couple of campgrounds at the same time I was this summer. Freaked me out just a little bit when I remembered seeing his vehicle. So I decided maybe it wasn't such a good idea to go solo. So there you go...I am grounded and very restless and losing my social skills with just a dog and cat to talk to. Thank heaven they talk back or I would go stir crazy!!!!!

I heard yesterday that we last saw the sun on 2/1. It was minimal at best, shone for less than 2 hours. In January we had 4 days where we saw some sun, but it was 40%. My recollection was that it was about 2 hours all of those days too. This is our forecast for today:
Today will be a bitterly cold day with temperatures mainly in the single numbers. A northwest wind at 20-35 mph will keep wind chills in the -10 to -20 range. Lake effect snow showers and strong winds will cause blowing and drifting snow with visibilities near zero at times.
Lake effect snow showers continue tonight with additional accumulations possible along the lakeshore. Low temperatures will drop into the single numbers again with west winds at 7-14 mph.
YesI want sympathy! Yes I want a snuggle partner!

Cabin fever in my case can best be described as this.
I am starting to fantasize about getting my kids for the summer so I can take them to the pool in Normal (Its a town for those of you not local) so I can let them swim to their hearts content while I watch the scantly clad women in bikini's.
Even starting to drive past the pool from time to time and hallucinate that there are college girls running around there.

(Dec 10)
My recruiter said he could pull some strings and get me in at Great Lakes, MI but almost begged me to wait 7 days so I could go to boot camp in Orlando.

If anyone here is planning on moving to VA for any kind of relief from snow or cold I STRONGLY suggest you just stay where you are and be happy with it.
The last year I was there I dealt with four FEET of show being dropped in a little less than 2 days.
Back when I was discharged from the Navy and living in Jacksonville, I went to see my family in VA.... in April
I had already been to the beach acouple times that year.... got off the plane to see about 3 feet of snow.
Talk about seeing a grown man cry!!!
I'm SO good with being here in Sarasota, FL.
Yeah yeah yeah.... you can say it's too hot.
Ever tried to get instant relief when you're frozen??
Even a COLD shower burns like the big dawg.
A bottle of water offers instant relief in the hottest temps.

sucks to be you MC..
we dont get alot of snow but some winters we can get a few feet...like 4or 5 years ago..we had snow for like 6 months straight..
I went fishing the past 2 days down my local pond and river spillway,very nice but yesterday was a little chilly when the sun went in..now this mess today..its like what was last week..a freakin tease...

I think I have it figured out how to tell when cabin fever has truly set in beyond repair.
Luckily I am not to this point yet.
But if Belladreams ever starts making sense, it's probably cabin fever.

Bocky-I worked for 10 years for the Department of Corrections, that was one of the slang terms they used for "it." Seriously some of them thought only the Catcher was wrong for doing it. I told them pitching or catching, it is all playing ball.
