Yep. You most certainly can!
Draw the line in the sand and don't cross it! Maybe I can say that because I have only had sex with a handful or two of people. Once I have been intimate with someone they know me, I know them. I don't let that many people into my life very deeply to begin with, so once they are there, then they are stuck with me and my well wishes for them and whoever the next girl may be.

tell him immediately after meeting if the felling is only mutual. if not he will get delusions of grandure and think in his mind that he is in on something good.
if he walks away after you give him the " i only like you as a friend speech" then he wasnt a friend after all.

I have!
I had a very good male friend and then we tried being a couple. It
just didn't work for us. That "elusive" chemistry was not there.
We went back to being friends...and we became very
close freinds; went out for beers, shared dating stories, we both
loved gardening and shared plants, occasionally went to a movie or
concert if we didn't have other dates, etc.
Unfortunately, he passed away suddenly right before Christmas...
I miss him alot. Very sad 
I have lots of male friends in fact...that are friends that I would
be sorry if I missed having them. Some of them go back 40 years!

to this day my true best friend of the op sex is still that ,,, we share almost every thing he recently got married and i was included in the ceremomy..we decided 8 yrs ago that we made better friends and vowed that we would always be around for eachother...so you can become true friends aftersex is over and done.....

Yes you can....In fact he ended up being my best friend for years.
At the time sex was involved it was good but more for relief and fun than desire. We loved each other to death but wanted to be in love and it just wasn't working like that.With the sex deal out of the way an intimacy still was formed that was unreal. He was like the male version of me. We could talk about everything and enjoy doing anything together.
I lost him 2 years ago in a car wreck 2 days before my birthday. He had just been at my house the day before. He took a piece of my heart with him and I think he's my guardian angel now.

Yes. I am still close friends to a man I had dated all through high school and was intimate with in college. I have known all his girlfriends and his wives, and still kept it on a friends only level. I'd say after 20+ years, that's doing really well.

I wouldn't want to be friends with someone I was intimate with. It ended for a reason. No point in trying to be friends. If we couldn't be friends when we were together why would it all of the sudden change just because we weren't sleeping together anymore????
