I believe that if you have the figure and the legs to look good and sexy, by all means do it. A short skirt, worn in good taste, can be very sexy and very enticing. It takes a special kind of woman to pull it off.

... Rule is, if you wore a mini skirt in the 70's or remember them you are too old to wear a short skirt! (No matter what your body shape) It is just plain tacky to wear a short skirt when your age is in your 50's! Really! Have a little class ... please!

And you can bet I still wear them...
If you got the legs and the figure for it...there is absolutely nothing wrong with a short skirt....
Now if your panties are showing, or lack of them, then it's too short....
Have fun and dress whatever "You" feel comfortable in......

I have seen senior citizens wearing short skirts and they looked good and I have seen teenagers wearing short skirts and they looked bad, so age really doesn't have anything to do with it. It is how you put your clothes together, how they fit, and how a person wears them (with confidence) that makes an outfit look classy.
Wear what you feel comfortable in, dress with confidence, and keep your head up and body erect and you wil turn heads.

I am all of 5' even  I need to show I have LEGS. There are some really nice looks out there. Just have to be tastfully done.... Also I have just lost about 20 lbs and feel better than I have in years... Why not show off the new me? My youngest would insist on going shopping with me before I left CA. She was tired of seeing me dressed "frumpy... like an OLD woman" her favorite comment was "mom your only (48) at the time why do you have to dress as if you were OLD.. LOL

Jan, at this age whom do we have to impress. If you're happy with the clothes, why worry about what anyone says about them, and if you think you look great, who is to worry???? Be happy with Jan, and believe me, you'll get the looks that you've deserved all these years. They were just too shy to look prior to this age. lol Be happy with yourself, and your clothes. You go girl....if I still had the body to wear them, I would. I have the legs, it's just the body has gained too much weight in the girth since I quit smoking. My famous words.....This too shall pass!

I think after viewing your picture on this post, I can say without a doubt, YES, YES, YES, wear them!!!!! Ok, so I am older and should be wiser, but damn, if a lady looks good at whatever her age and wants to accent her best features, then YES, YES, YES. I am not one to argue!!! But then I am a guy!!!

I'm 53 going to be 54 next month, yes I wear them! I wear them in good taste too! Age has nothing to do with it, young or old. Yes you are right, some young girls look terrible in them. Besides it's just clothes, I wear a bikini also!!
