RIDERS caught my eye... thinking horses... went to the site and now i see... joined...
we've given local security in a pine box horse escort to the hand dug hole.
still legal here.
let each other know ahead of time that's how we want to go.
thanks for the lead...

there's quite a few PGR members tuning in from time to time on the forum...joined two years ago...some runs are tear jerkers...but you have no idea the sense of pride I get for just being on a flag line or providing an escort for a family in need...became a driving force in my life...

I have seen the PGR in action. There is a chapter here. When those protesting idiots see the procession coming down the street....followed by a bunch of bikers, or bikers riding along with it...they think twice before starting something. PGR is very intimidating and they keep the peace. When I get my Harley....I'll be joining.

just got off the phone with our resident poet, ms luksi, she's got a new one coming soon for the PGR members and supporters. I've heard it and it's good.
keep an eye out for it in this thread!

Well today’s run was something else…I never know on a Monday how big a showing we can put out…we got a short notice last night to provide an escort for a soldier who died in Afghanistan last week from Northport to LI Nat’l Cemetery at Pinelawn…we ended up with 25 bikes, ten NYS Trooper cars, two Trooper bikes, ten Suffolk PD cars and four PD bikes…must have been 30-40 private cars too so this GI got a real sendoff…it was hot but it was worth it…I always get choked up when they shoot the volley of rifles and then play taps…
The Army sent up a few guys from the Old Guard at Arlington to supervise…they drilled the local guys for a little while since Channel 12 was filming things…it was nice to watch the drills going on…brought back some nice memories of years ago when I was still on active duty…
I was holding the Flag of Heroes that lists all of the NYPD, Port Authority PD, FDNY, and EMTs names that died at the Towers on 9-11...I remember going to a lot of funerals and memorials back then...I was standing at attention but started reading the names on my flag and got real real misty...brought back some very sad memories when I watched the Towers come down that day...but then I remembered why I was where I was today and how this GI gave his life because of that attack...like all of those that died on 9-11, I'll never forget this man who died fighting for what I believe in...
