Some of you may already know this, but I'm a member of the Patriot Guard Riders. We are an organization that was created for the sole purpose of protecting the families of our fallen heroes from those who feel that they have to demonstrate their objections. Most of us are bikers. You don't need a motorcycle to be a member. All you need is a sense of pride in our soldiers. Whenever you see a Military funeral, and there are bikers leading the way, THAT is the Patriot Guard! I ask all veterans and all who love Veterans, to go to www.patriotguard.org and sign up. Freedom isn't free, membership is. The unofficial motto of the Patriot Guard is,"Hero down, Kickstand up"! Where ever there is a heroes funeral or a heroes homecoming, we will be there. We welcome home all military. Please see it in your heart to join. Thank you, Mike

rickie, I just love my country and those who defend it. I wore the uniform and would again if they would let me. The least that any of us can do, is be there when our heroes come home. Unfortunately, I have had to welcome home more of the fallen, than the living. I long for the day that I get to see ALL of our troops come marching home! I see tickertape parades and flags waving. I just hope that after it is over, we, as a country, remember to take care of our Vets. Also, there is a group that most people forget, the families of the fallen. If anyone knows of such a family, help them out. Send a food basket, money, a card, whatever. Just let them know that we care and that we apprieciate what they and their loved ones sacrificed. Mike

To all that would like to join: Please read my post with the web address. As Veterans, this is one of the MOST worthwhile organizations that you could possibly join! It does not cost anything to join, and you are not expected to be at the homecomings. Just go to the site and sign up to show your support. You don't even have to be a Vet. You just have to care.........
