i find that people search for that who will complete them, and in doing so are only fooling themselves, simply because we begin dating someone and enjoy their company, yet never know them fully. WE ENJOY their company. have a great time together, yet NEVER do we knnow them, and each day is a learning experience growing with them, so how can anyone say they are our better half. we trust them, yet husbands have killed wives, and wives have killed husbands what went wrong there? we are not a half, we are a whole. each one of us are a whole. I believe this misconception comes from marriage and becoming one, and the man in old days being the bread winner sort of speak. this is the year 2008 and all of the past is behind us. never to return. even if history does repeat itself, it is NOT the same, for those smart want to be's out there. so why not be a single whole who finds another whole and togeher you make two people sharing a sma part of life together.
Dam! life's so easy yet so darn hard!

...to have someone to share my life with. LIVE IN ABUNDNCE = GREAT LOVE.
As you look back upon the events in your life you will find that the moments that stand out, the moments when you have really lived, are the moments when you have done things in a spirit of love. If you have it, you don't need to have anything else. and if you don't have it, it doesn't matter what else you have.
Therefore, search for love.
Once you have learned to love,
you will have learned to live.

Thank you Mr Smiles. I want to add something to that. No one will ever make you complete. You already are complete. Your job, (should you choose to accept it, lol) in order to be a 'perfect' partner and/or have one, is to see that you are, live like you are and love like you are. Think about that folks.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. Mr. Smiles. I think you are right. When we start a relationship feeling less than whole/ complete, when this type of relationship ends, we can end up with less of ourselves than we started with,.. even more desperately needing "fulfillment." Of course, this is not to say we can be solitary creatures forever. Aloneness can be good. Loneliness is the toxic form or false concept of there being something wrong with us if we are not attached to someone all the time.

love and lust sometimes we just need a piece but usually we really need someone there. Someone to care for that cares for us. God made only one mistake that I am aware of it's in Genesis God said he created man and man was alone and it was "Not Good" so he made Adam a help-mate. That's why we are here looking for one another to fill the empty void!

I don't think I want my better half, but maybe my other half. Actually, my answer to the age old question of 'WHY ARE WE HERE" (other than the smartass answer of "Because") is to love and be loved...that's our purpose in life. Since I came up with that grand old theory, nada, zippo, nyet, nothing in the love department.
