lol...no I was just wondering.
In hepries commericals everyone seems so happy and all, just wanted to get "real" opinions.
Also, not too long ago I heard a story on the news about a woman suing her ex-boyfriend because he gave her hepries.
He felt that since he didn't have any breakouts at the time they had sex that she couldn't get it...

A person with HSV-II (genital herpes) sheds active virus 70% of the time. 100% during an active outbreak.
I don't think I would want to take that risk.
Like 90% of the population, I have HSV-I (cold sores). In fact, the simple test can't distinguish between HSV-I and HSV-II. The Western Blot test is the most accurate one, and yes, I am quite "clean", in that regard. Furthermore, I am fortunate, that I have only had a cold sore twice in my life.
There are, IIRC, seven different strains of Herpes Simplex virus: the most common tend to infect the lips (HSV-I, oral herpes, quite common), and genitals (HSV-II, genital herpes). What many people do not know is that it is possible to have a genital HSV-I infection, or an oral HSV-II infection. But, the preferred infection site for HSV-I is the lips and mouth, and HSV-II is the genitals, by far. Despite 90% of the population being HSV-I positive, oral sex with such an individual is quite safe (in that regard). Kissing them, OTOH, runs the risk of spreading the HSV-I virus (which is why 90% of the population has it!). Fortunately. HSV-I is little more than an occasional nuisance.

In my line of work I often see the fall out of what incurable STD's does to the real people. I would tell them thanks but not thanks and mean it.
Before I become sexually involved with someone there is a current STD test in his hot little hand and I know where he has been the previous days.
I am terrified of getting one. I know alot of people say just use a condom and practice safe sex. Nope not doing or taking the chance.
As far as these T.V. commercials are concered. Hello wake up smell some coffee they have a product to sell. Of course they are going to project the decease with the smallest reprocussions as possible. If there is a decline in the spread of STD's then their product isn't going to sell and they are out of a job.

Well at least they were being honest with you about it...im sure there are a few who never have the decency to tell because of the way people are reacting on here and that is very understandable but if i was interested in him. I believe I can be woman enough to discuss it with him and read up on it to get more facts about it then take the precautions.
